I had a great cabin on Live Oak for 20 yearsmy yard looking up at my house and loved the location.

Easy up and down the hill, quick to get to the village, wonderful neighbors, great valley views and backed to the forest. Needed bigger house for grandkids visits!!

are spirtual people more giving lake arrowhead

This weekend I went down the hill to a spiritual, holistic, what some people call "woo woo" festival. It was interesting. I was there raising funds for a no kill animal shelter and also trying to recruit volunteers. I had created photos of needy dogs and cats available for adoption. ----One rescue that happened recently was very moving. Photos showed before and after photos. These two dogs had just been dumped in someones back yard. In really terrible condition. Our organization worked on having their medical needs and restored peace to them. They sure look and act wonderful now. ------I don't know if it was the patrons of this event were more caring, giving or feeling but my donation jar was overflowing. I have done events like this often and never had this response. It was really something. It could of been the recent rescue photos that touched them. Or could it have been the other things they did at the event. Like maybe listening to people talk about getting healthy, thinking differently, exploring other ways of living and thinking, some of the spiritual and some of the "woo woo" stuff like tarot, psychics and other exploration. I am using "woo woo" very lovingly like the lady that organized this event. I do not think there is anything wrong with thinking outside the box. Most of the time I rarely start inside the box. I enjoyed the people who stopped by, our conversations , the people who had other types of booths and services. It was a pleasant way to spend a Sunday afternoon down the hill. And boy did I raise lots of money for a great cause.

friday nights in spring

In the winter in the Mountains near Lake Arrowheadsometimes you do your day and then snuggle in for the night. TV, a nice fire in the fireplace and the emails. Neighbors walk house to house share pizza's, dvd's books or ask you to feed the cats while they are away.

Then the sun stays out a little bit longer and the wind blows a little less. Friday nights now seem like maybe there is some place you should try to go. So you meet friends after work at Cedar Glen Inn. They have the prime rib and me the steam veg plate. My favorite thing is the real turkey dinners. That place sure is not fancy but the food sure is wonderful. Look on the wall see the history. Great food and history. It is hard to beat that.

quiet the mind

A walk around Lake Gregory to quiet the mind.lake gregory california

Park the car at grocery store across the street. Dreams of coffee and a bearclaw afterwards from their bakery. Notice how all my blogs have food in them.Back to quiet a mind.

A one hour silent walk around lake gregory does quiet the mind.

If a random thought pops in your head just poof it away and allow the silence.

I stop often, sit on logs, ground, ---- pause.

Touch the dirt, a rock, a bug, a tree. Really quickly when no one is around hug a tree and thank it for being there.

Solitude with safety. Nice concept.

Watch a fisherman he has already caught a beautiful day in a beautiful place.

It is really hard for me to keep that mind quiet. It is almost work. But I am trying. It is more important than thinking.

Guess what I am happy. I feel great. All those poofed thoughts I am lighter. Light enough to eat that bearclaw and get that coffee.

to see more photos of my walk view this tour slide show so pretty.
