A day after Iran test it's first long range space missle:
The Obama administration is trying to have meaningful dialog with a hostile Iranian regime, while American businesses continue to do business in Iran despite federal law prohibiting companies to do business there.
The list of companies is long, Over 700 companies have business ties with Iran although not one admits its. The shell game is easy. American products are routinely shipped to Dubai, where they are off loaded, put in new containers that have no American markings, and immediately shipped into Iran. When asked about the situation, every American company feigns no knowledge of the events. But anyone that has gone to Iran in the past 10 years can see American products on every shelf.
Included on the list are: Seimons, Dell, Microsoft, Western Digital, Palm, Apple, Hewitt Packard, GE, GM, Black and Decker and the list goes on. Black and Decker has an office in Tehran and most have offices in Dubai. The profit is enormous with goods selling at 50 300% more than in the US.
The most troubling information is that with this setup, Iran has been able to procure high speed computer chips, military hardware, and nuclear components, all from companies that look at profit before common sense. Even Goldman Sachs and Citigroup have offices in Iran. And most recently, the justice dept. has won cases against multi-national banks that moved billions of dollars for Iran.
The trade embargos have been in affect for years and even with the tension between the West and Iran growing because of Iran's push for nuclear weapons, the trade has surged. Dubai has very little in the way of regulations, taxes and tariffs.
And most Americans do not know that the technology that American companies sell to Dubai to Iran can end up as a IED, those roadside bombs that have killed American troops and thousands of civilians and police in Iraq and Afghanistan. In many cases, American circuit boards, software, GPS devices, cellphones make up the guts of the bombs.
Where is the government in this. While talking defiantly about additional sanctions, the politicians continue to refuse to put any muscle in the sanctions with many of our politicians actively trying to put it under the rug. Nor is big business quiet about the matter. One day before the Senate was to vote on sanctions, the US Chamber of Commerce, National Association of Manufacturers, National Foreign Trade Council and the Business Roundtable discussed their opposition to sanctions with National Security Advisor Jim Jones.
So in the end it is always about profit. And none of these companies admit to be party to this. But when the first bomb goes off in America or anywhere in the world where free people live, think about this and the companies that have sold you out.
I usually don't put too much into thinking that most of our leaders are really bright, most have lead sheltered lives and probably can't get out of the rain. But I read a comment from the National Transportaion Secretary where he stated that anyone driving a Toyota, "should stop driving them."
He apologized later for the remark, but really, it begs the question would he have said the same thing about GM or Chrysler. I think not so that is why it looks fishy. And I believe I have a right to believe it may be fishy, based upon all the other leaks, lies and mayhem coming out of Washington.
Of course the benefit would be that millions of Americans will be receiving tax refunds in the near future with many going out to purchase a new car. So with the major player out of the market, it would benefit the government owned entities the most. And look for the media to hit this hard. It is my understanding that although the recall is in the millions, it doesn't affect that many cars in the US, maybe a few hundred thousand.
This one might be worth watching.
There has been much talk recently about what the government my do to try to cut down on its massive deficit. Talk radio has been promoting the take over of the 401-k, pension and IRAs in the private sector. While there is a reported 3 trillion dollars there for the government to use, I don't see that happening without a fight from banks, Wall St, insurance firms and of course the general public.
I see a much simpler way of tackling the problem. First off the government at all levels would accept a plan that raises gasoline taxes and value added taxes on energy consumption. This would immediately set off a firestorm of protest but solves many of the administrations problems and continues to promote much of the administrations agenda.
It would get much needed money now. It would reduce the number of miles driven, dropping the need for foreign oil. It would be easier to promote clean air initiatives and appease the left. By pushing this hard the administration could at some point do what is proposed for our retirement money, that is take over the energy companies pursuant to our nation interests.
It is my understanding that we consume 2 million barrels of oil a day. So the revenue would be massive, and the taxes would be the same for all. Of course the taxes would be indiscriminate and hurt the poor, business, and ultimately all citizens in the form of higher costs for everything.
I am not advocating this approach. I think they can stop the deficits by just spending less, but that would be too easy. I do believe however, we are going to see much more of this type of taxation from the federal government all the way down to our local government.
Get ready!
Watch this video of the comments that experts made in the depression era and how much they sounded like the responses we heard from our experts.

Three American military personnel were killed yesterday in a roadside bombing. The convoy was attending the opening of an all girls school, something the Taliban is against. What should be noted however is the fact that our troops are in Pakistan at all. Both the US and Pakistan authorities are trying to play down that fact.
The area in which the bombing occurred is an al-Quaida and Taliban stronghold. Our presence there is explained by our government that we are training the local forces to how to fight. One would guess that we are providing arms and additional assistance also.
Here are some questions that I have.
Why isn't the press up in arms about this? If a Republican administration was involved in something like this, it would be front and center.
Where is Congress on this? The current Congress is silent on our troops being in yet another country.
Will Obama get on TV and express his condolences? Or will these three soldiers die a silent death?
I expect this is just the beginning
