As many of you are reading this online, I thought it would be helpful to go home by home and offer a tour of each to you on our website. Today we are starting with the home for which many Epcon Communities, including Lexington Villas, are named: The Villa

Lexington Villas Announces Introduction of Courtyard Collection

Lexington Villas now offers four new Epcon floorplans: The Ducal, The Colonade, The Bramante and the Aboreta. Epcon did extensive research into how these new plans fit the demands of today's buyer. Be ther first in Lexington to own one of these exciting plans. Here is some information on the background work that went into the classic courtyard plans.

The research

Epcon Communities sought out several design firms to create the lifestyle rich homes that the company envisioned, giving specific guidelines such as price range, square footage, outdoor living space options and aesthetic appeal. After 18 months of planning, strategizing, designing and discussing, the finished product, Epcon Communities' Classic Courtyard Collection, was born.

Utilizing groundbreaking findings from a recent study by ProMatura and Margaret Wylde, Ph.D., noted researcher on the Boomer housing industry, Epcon Communities specifically designed its new collection of homes after the study's findings revealing Boomer wants and preferences. The age-classified study, completed in 2006, researched and surveyed 6,000 Boomers and seniors.

One of the study's most important findings was that outdoor living space was very desirable to Active Adults. Research showed that today's fitness- and health-conscious Boomers expressed a great desire for homes that make fitness and healthy lifestyle choices easy. "Epcon Communities wanted to be the answer to a common problem created with condominium living - lack of outdoor living space," said Principal Phillip Fankhauser of Epcon Communities. "Our customers want to be able to downsize, but they don't want to sacrifice their lifestyle or their outdoor space. We believe that we've found the ideal compromise that offers ample living space inside and out, and we want to show that we have really listened to our buyers.

We've put thousands of hours into finding a price-conscious, amenity-conscious, lifestyle-conscious housing option, and we truly feel that we have succeeded in creating something that is unprecedented in our market."


Remaining relevant

Through its research and experience in the Boomer housing segment, Epcon Communities has evolved with the market segment to offer more choices and options for today's Boomers. Epcon Communities has emerged to truly differentiate itself with its new detached homes, private courtyards and sun-filled floorplans.

"It was really easy for us to become comfortable with our previous models and floorplans because they sold well and they've gotten us where we are today," said Fankhauser. "But we didn't want to settle for easy or comfortable. We want to keep growing, to keep meeting goals and to always be relevant in the market, so we challenged ourselves to really examine how we could better achieve those goals and how we could better meet the needs of our residents. It wasn't an easy task to try to fix something that has been working well for us the last 20 years, but it was necessary for us to do so to continue to be a leader and innovator in the housing industry."

Today, Epcon Communities has ventured into an area that further distance's itself from the competition by better serving the needs of today's market. While its product continues to evolve and grow, Epcon's mission remains the same - more than a home, it's about creating a lifestyle.
