The Great Park Blog
Topic Discussion: The Great Park or The Great Disappearing Act.
This is the likes of conversations my friends and I have had over the last couple of years concerning The Great Park of Orange county California
"The Great Park or The Great Disappearing Act.
It seems every time I read an article about "The Great Park" it’s about trading in another chunk of its land for another housing development.
I'm concerned about what appears as this Great Disappearing Act of what was once a grand vision of a cultural enhancement to our Orange County community.
We are losing our Amphitheater soon along with Raging Rivers water park and now a disappearing Great Park".
Where's the tipping point where The Great Park turns into just another park surrounded by homes? "
Dave
I agree. What happened to the advertised vision of a world class destination such as Balboa Park in San Diego and Exhibition Park in Los Angeles just to name a few. What happened to the golf courses, the museums, the sport parks, nature walks and such. Today all I hear about is more bedrooms. I rather see the land remain baron as it is now then rows of homes. So much potential and so much greed. Irvine at its best.
Erni
