We all love to drink water, some in our scotch, out of a bottle bought at the local market for more than $12 a gallon or straight from the tap. I am tap guy, grew up on well water, still drink from the tap today. There has been a scare here of recent days and weeks from national reports that we do not have safe water from DRUGS.
Drugs such as antibiotics, sex hormones and pain remedies (no wonder my shoulder has been feeling better). In a recent article from the New-Dispatch in Michigan City both Directors from LaPorte and Michigan City have assured that we are ok. We meet all Federal and State regulations. Now, don't you feel more comfortable
Seriously, all joking aside, I feel that we have some of the best water around and I have lived in Chicago, West Lafayette and vacation in Florida. I miss our water. This all really stems from our bodies inability to absorb trace minerals in our drugs and supplements. Yeah, you really need to read that again to get what I am saying.
So, rest easy my fellow cityzens, we can drink our water. If not we still have beer.
Enjoy the weekend

This morning started off with a telephone call informing me that Michael passed away while at his home in Niles, Michigan. This is a tragic loss of both a good friend and a true professional. Michael was sincerely interested in the well being of others, including his many 4 legged friends. Our 12 year old Golden Retriever was just one of many dogs that Michael raised or bred.
Michael would always greet you with a smile and in all the times I had the pleasure to work with him, I never witnessed him express anger or hate. I you had the opportunity to deal with Michael on a real estate related matter, I'm sure you will agree that he was both, likable and professional.

I knew Mike personally for just a short time. He was a very good friend of a friend of mine. He was a guest and contributer many times on the Jim and Dave Show with "The Southwest Michigan Report". He had a great love for his pets and other animals. I know that he will be sorely missed in SW Michigan, NW Indiana and beyond.
I have no other information at this time about funeral proceedings. I will repost when that becomes known

I love to cook and this week I get to show it off to everyone who reads the Herald-Argus. I am the Chef of the Week. It is called Boboli Dave Style.
Dave Woodson of Michigan City
Dave e-mailed to share this recipe favorite of his from college days.
.
"Not for the weak or the young - very hot and spicy," Dave said.
BOBOLI DAVE STYLE
1 steak
Open Pit barbecue sauce
1 Boboli pizza shell
garlic - use as much as you like - I prefer 4 or 5 cloves
giardeneria - hot, but mild will work
Tabasco sauce- as much or as little as you like
spices - if you've got a spice rack, have fun - I use oregano, thyme, rosemary, red pepper flakes, basil and fennel
olive oil
balsamic vinegar
Cut steak in small pieces while you heat your olive oil - about a 1/4 cup over medium heat.
Toss in chopped garlic; let it simmer for moment, then toss in steak, giardeneria, spices and Tabasco.
Brown meat, then add vinegar - about a 1/4 cup
Then apply a liberal amount of barbecue sauce to a regular (not thin) Boboli shell.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees, spoon meat and some of the gravy on shell and pop in the over for nine to 11 minutes.
Cut like a pizza and enjoy.
This is one of my favorite recipes, and I have tons others. Look forward to some great feedback
