I was excite to hear this on the news this morning on WIMS am 1420. A new bus service linking, one of the best cities in Northwest Indiana, Valparaiso to Downtown Chicago. This will be a great service to the whole community and it shows what can happen when people work together to achieve a common goal.
With foresight of the traffic gods...The new Chicago Dash bus service from Valpo to Chicago will take place on October 6th with construction delays to the station and other major roadways.
This service being brought by the great city of Valparaiso and the Valparaiso Redevelopment Commission and with financial support from the Northwest Indiana Regional Development Authority. Additional financial support has come from the Federal Transit Administration and the Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission.
I am excited about this. My wife takes the train everyday to Chicago, and it is nice to know that there is another option and one so convenient. I took this from the website, here are 10 good reasons to use the new ChicaGo Dash Bus Service
For more information on the service feel free to view their site at ChicGo Dash

Are you ready for some mucho ice carnage this year.
On Yahoo! today much of Northwest Indiana was mentioned today as we are in for an salt shortage. I am sure we will have plenty for the margaritas (oh thank God), but we will have to contend with the dreaded salt/sand mixture that the rest of the state uses.
Here is the story in it's entirety from Yahoo!
And for good measure, here is what I think most of Northwest Indiana will look like after that first big ice and snow storm.
I remember looking out of my office window this last January as the snow piled up so did the cars wrecking at my none-to-busy intersection. I counted 4 accidents that afternoon. I was so scared that I went out and moved my parked Honda Ridgeline down the side street.
According to the Farmers Alminac we are in for a doozy this winter
I'll be warm and dry

Hey, everyone, I just wanted to share a Mad Mortgage Machine Minute with everyone.
We have a nice bounce off of the 25-day moving average. We are 44bps at this point in the day. Oil is down under $108/barrel and stocks look to open higher. Here watch this quick video from deep down in the Mad Mortgage Machine Bunker
If you have any questions or concerns - just let me knon. I have my FHA Training ready for Realtors, I can come to your office or even do it face to face in a Starbucks for those that would like a little brush up.

Saturday, while I was out running a few errands. I came across a Realtors sign that had a call capture # on it. I called it to see who or what it might say. And, I got a "that extension does not exist" recording.
So, today, I drove by the same place as I was out hitting a few places to market to and garner some more business. I called again and again I got the same recorded message. OK, I thought, I will call the Realtor on the sign. I did and that was over 8 hours ago and he has not called me back.
I did not tell him why I was calling. I just told him that I was calling about the house at such and such address.
I figured if I left open-ended like that he would call. He has not.
I guess he is so busy that he does not need to worry about it.
Well, if you are looking to buy a home in NW Indiana or SW Michigan, there is only one person that you need to call and that is me. I cam help you get approved for a mortgage and the introduce you to one of several Realtors in the NW Indiana area, and trust me it will not be that guy. It is obvious that he is simply too busy to call anyone back especially someone calling one of his own homes.
I cam be reached at (219)872-8000

We are taking a beating this morning on mortgage bond market. If you are one of those joe average loan officers that follows the 10 year T-bill. Well, just don't read this as it more than likely will be over your head and you are not smart enough to get this.
We were down nearly 59bps this morning, we have came back a little to be just down around 47bps down. That has been some reinvigorated interest in our stock market by the world and we have seen money pour into our beaten up stocks and financial institutions. We had some great rallies the last couple of days.
I am curios to see if it will last or not. Please I am a "glass half full" kind of guy.
I am sure that even with the gov't bailout, it will take some time to work out the liquidity issues. I am sure we are not done with some bank failures and joint ventures. You ever wonder if your local bank is safe? I just had an idea for another blog.
