How To Tell If Your Real Estate Company Is Working Behind The Scenes.
The Coldwell Banker Howard Perry & Walston Garner Office took a guided bus tour of Clayton The Town of Clayton really got behind this idea of showcasing the many many features the town has to offer to real estate agents, who better to show what a great town like Clayton to?
We were picked up at the Garner Office by the town bus driven by Larry, head of the town’s Parks and Rec Dept. We were driven to the town hall and civic center which used to be the old High School and has now been beautifully transformed into a vibrant town hall, and The Clayton Center which is now a wonderful auditorium that hosts world class acts. We got the first look at the upcoming season and I was very impressed, we were told they sell 90% of seats on average for their shows.
We had breakfast kindly provided by KB Homes who has a community in Clayton called
Cobblestone. We then took a quick walk over to the Chamber of Commerce on Main Street where Jim the Director gave us some interesting facts about the growth of Clayton for example Johnston County Schools added 400 new students when schools opened last week! That’s almost an elementary school! Our bus was waiting for us to take us down to the fantastic trail system Clayton is building along the Neuse River, there are miles and miles of walking, running, biking trails that hug the river and there is a walk-bridge to cross and eventually the trails will meet up with the Wake County trails whereby you will have access to the wonderful Raleigh Green-ways.
How does this benefit you and the sale of your house? These agents now know more about Clayton and what the town has to offer newcomers and residents than most of the people who live in the area. We learned about schools in the Clayton Area, major employers in Clayton, where the future growth is. We learned about how the town is purchasing land for parks and sports, all things that homebuyers want to know.
How does this benefit you and your home search..........see above!
Large Lots in The Raleigh Area.
If you are looking for a larger lot with some privacy, maybe some trees, it’s hard to find them in North Raleigh and Cary.
But some of the best large lots for home building are in Portofino in Clayton. Portofino has lots from half an acre all the way up to five acres and more. The large lots in Portofino offer a quality of life that few communities can claim. There are all kinds of options in this 400 acre community, voted the Community of the Year in the entire State of North Carolina for 2010!
We have large lots in the woods, we have large lots that are partially cleared, some lots are basement lots. There are many lots that have access to the nearly seven miles of hiking trails, some lots have a creek running through them and some lots have river access to the Neuse.
At Portofino the quality of the homes reflects the incredible natural beauty of the property, no two homes are alike and we encourage people to bring plans they have for their dream home and one of our custom builders will build a home that matches the lot you choose.
So often today developers will clear cut every tree, stick house on top of house and slab build to get the most they possibly can for their investment and often times in high density areas so you end up with a $500,000 home and you can reach out the bathroom window and touch the neighbors house!!!!
Portofino is twenty minutes to Downtown Raleigh, thirty minutes to North Hills, forty five minutes to Research triangle and a nice two hour ride to the beach. You need a larger lot in the triangle, you are looking for land or a lot wit a couple of acres but you want to be in a community, with a pool etc, come out to Portofino, you not be disappointed.

Golf Carts are very popular with families who live in Portofino it is the preferred mode of transport for the residents.
They drive em to the pool, up to the barn to see the horses, over to the catch and release pond to fish and of course the trails. Portofino has approximately seven miles of trails that win their way through the woods until you reach the river.

It’s funny people come to live in Portofino because they love to walk and hike the trails and what’s the first thing they do when they move in.....buy a golf cart.
