Are you looking for an upbeat restaurant using only the freshest of ingredients? Are you looking for food that is not only good for you but also delicious? Look no further than Pita Jungle.

Pita Jungle originally opened in 1994 in Tempe. Since then they have opened six more locations around the valley. Having eaten at several of them I can say that the food, flavor and ambiance is consistently wonderful.
Recently I dined at one of the newer locations in Gilbert. True to form the walls are decorated with original art by local artists (that one can buy) and there is the open kitchen where you can see the chefs cooking up their delicious dishes.
We were quickly greeted and led to our table. Upon opening the menu we were greeted with a surprise - an insert detailing some summer specials. Although I had planned on ordering some old favorites I was quickly tempted by the new selections. Who wouldn't be tempted by Moroccan Gazpacho, Seafood Provencal, Mediterranean Chicken Salad, or a Spinach Four Cheese Quesadilla?
After conferring with the attentive waitress I ordered the Seafood Provencal and my wife ordered the Spinach Four Cheese Quesadilla with Chicken. Great Choices!
The food arrived - the Seafood Provencal consisted of shrimp, scallops, calamari and mussels sauteed in a white wine and tomato basil sauce. Toasted Parmesan and garlic pita slices fanned out from the bowl. The presentation was impressive and the dish was delicious. The ingredients were fresh, the scallops were tender and the sauce was rich but not overpowering.

My wife ordered the Spinach Four Cheese Quesadilla which consisted of lavosh bread with melted mozzarella, cheddar, feta and swiss cheeses, chicken and spinach. Tsatziki, pico de gallo and guacamole were served on the side. Again, this dish was beautifully presented and the fresh ingredients were put together in perfect proportion. Another winner!

On other occasions my guests and I have enjoyed such standards as taboule, gyros, wraps and wood-fired pizzas. I have never been disappointed! If you are looking for a non-chain restaurant that consistently serves fresh, delicious food then head for the jungle - Pita Jungle!

Mesa announced today that Gaylord is going to be building a mega resort in southeast Mesa on the GM Proving Grounds.
This is going to be huge - they are expecting to spend upwards of one BILLION dollars on the resort/convention center.
Not only will this create great jobs during the construction but there will be thousands of jobs created by the resort itself.
One thing that the people at Gaylord said attracted them to the area were the views - like these:
This will undoubtably be a huge boon to this area and will give people yet another great reason to come to the Valley of the Sun!
