Breckenridge, CO in the early fall
Autumn is hear folks, and Arapahoe Basin has already opened for the season. It is hard to believe we are already skiing. The sun is out and we haven't really seen that many cold days this month. Still, i have my board waxed and ready to go. If you have any questions about events during the 2008/2009 ski season, please contact me at 970-406-1414.
FRISCO, CO - Summit County received its first snow this morning above 10,000 ft. The fact that the snow is here on August 16 leaves many summit County residents with mixed feelings. Though we have found ourselves in the county because of the snow, it is the sun and warmth that we cherish so much. Like an environmental delicacy, the summer warmth keeps us all content while we wait with baited breath for the winter storms.
The problem with having snow this early in the 08/09 season is that barely saw it melt away two months ago. In fact, we had snow in town as late as June this year. One can only hope that the snow will subside as we enter September. The truth is, most of us don't have the patience for a long grueling mud season.
Of course, as soon as October rolls around, it can dump for the next 6 months as far as I am concerned.
