A little history about David:
My career in real estate started early in life. My father introduced me into the construction business when I was knee high to a grasshopper where I learned the art and trade of building a home. When I could legally hold a real estate license I became a real estate agent, then two years later, I became a broker and owned and operated my own real estate company in Southeast Kansas . My desire to broaden my financial knowledge lead me to expand into financial services where I helped build a couple of companies, started my own financial services company and then worked for a premier financial services company in Kansas City. I began working with technology and liked it so much that I decided to focus my career in technology ultimately working for the Kauffman Foundation as the technology manager for ten plus years. When they downsized, I decided to get back into real estate full time and have been involved in the real estate industry ever since.
I leverage my construction, financial and technology background and experiences in the real estate business using the internet community and web sites to my clients advantage. I believe in giving back to the community, so I sponsor a number of Olathe neighborhood web sites which can be found under a tab called "Neighborhoods" on my real estate web site. These Olathe sites are designed for the neighbors to have the opportunity to obtain neighborhood and community information, post classified ads, find jobs, search for recipes and much more. Take a look!
My hobbies include golf, fishing and being involved in music within my church, Indian Creek Community Church, located at 12480 Black Bob Road in Olathe, between 119th and 127th streets on the west side of Black Bob. For more information please go to their web site www.indiancreek.org.
I have a wonderful family, my wife Sharon and son and daugther, Matthew and Meghan. Sharon, Meghan and I live in Olathe, and give back to our Olathe community in a number of ways. I belong to the Olathe Chamber of Commerce and several other networking groups and support our Olathe community TLC program. TLC (Temporary Lodging for Children is a very worthwhile cause, take a look at what they do for children at http://www.kidstlc.org/.
My expertise includes construction, real estate, finance and technology.
My construction experience includes the fine art of building a home from footings to roof and everything inbetween. I learned how to mix concrete and pour a foundation. Rough in a home from sill to the rafters. Run the plumbing and electrically, hold up sheet rock with my head while fastening it in place, finish the interior from trim to cabinetry and roof a home on a hot July day. I feel fortunate to have learned a trade that will remain with me for the rest of my life. I can still smell the sweet scent of fresh cut pine and feel the pain of the splinters, smashed fingers and other injuries I wouldn't elaborate on. I'm not trying to brag, just state the facts, so when it comes to real estate, I have a personal relationship with the construction industry.
My experience in finance lead me to become a Certified Financial Planner, stock broker and insurance broker. I was fortunate to be a part of growing business that developed a massive clientle in several states within a short period of time. Our goal was to provide an education to individuals wanting to change the direction of their financial careers with sound principles and lasting values.
My experience and education in the technology industry includes ceritifications in Microsoft and Novell, including CNA, CNE, MCNE and MCP. I spent over 10 years working for the Kauffman Foundation as the Information Technology Manager with responsibilities from desktop to servers, networks to web development. I value this period of my life as I learned a great deal about technology and leadership.
In the past two years I have had him to assist me in matters of real estate on a personal and professional level. A young widow who was coming to me for council regarding the sale of her home here in Kansas City was greatly helped in her move from here to Arizona by David Britt.
Another matter concerning a missionary selling his stateside headquarters here in Kansas City received great insight from David on the best way to expedite the marketing and selling of his home.
Just in the last few weeks a young couple who we mentor needed help over a hurdle they encountered when closing on their first home. It was Mr. Britt who walked them through the process and even took the time to call the mortgage company to make sure the correct process was followed.
David Britt is an asset to our city and his community. I count it an honor to call him my friend.

We the Horton Family think of David Britt as more than just a real estate agent, we consider him a friend as well as a great agent. We really felt like David made decisions and gave advice with our best interest in mind and with us being new to the area that was a great comfort. We would highly recommend David to anyone who is in the market to buy or sell a home.

My daughter and her husband needed a real estate agent too. I recommended they call David. I am very protective of her--and not many sales people would have my stamp of approval--a prerequisite for working with "my baby." David earned that stamp and represented them in the purchase of their new home too!
Jennifer Cutler - Olathe
You were always positive and had a great attitude. You truly care about your clients and their needs and we wish there were more agents like you.
Thank you for everything. Keep in touch and we wish you all the best for the future.

David kept us informed at all stages of construction. He emailed pictures and called with updates. We were so grateful that he was able to understand our situation and keep us totally aware of everything that was going on. He helped us with the appointments for closing and kept us in the loop on all aspects of the process. Building a house is stressful enough, even more so from 500 miles away. David went above and beyond to meet all our needs.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend David to anyone. David was the perfect agent for us.

Picture this...
One apartment: two bedrooms, one garage, three cars, two dogs, you, your wife, and your mother-in-law.
It works (for a while). Soon, my husband thought we should move out of my mother's apartment - and take our dog with us. Personally, I liked the situation, but I saw his point. So, we began house-hunting.
House-hunting schedule: endlessly search the internet and newspaper until the wee hours of the morning / spend the next several days driving around trying to find homes / contact the person on the sign in front yard / sorry - the home is already sold.
I was ready to retire from the process when my husband and I decided to call...a realtor. But, with so many, how do you know who to trust?
David Britt was recommended by a close friend. We were blessed! David treated us as though we were family. He was honest and forthright through the entire (albeit short) process. He helped us locate and purchase an amazing home with incredible equity built-in - within weeks. As we signed the papers, I remember asking "How do people do this without a realtor?" But, what I was really thinking was, "How do people do this without David Britt?"
