Hi All,
Watching the Eagles vs Giants game yesterday brought to mind football Sundays past. Who remembers Sundays in the ‘old days' of the past four years or so when in planning open houses you would want to be careful to black out your team's big games especially during the playoffs?
Now, in the current market where it has become the norm to hold an open house and not get one single customer show up, it is kind of sad that we tend not to even consider the football factor.
However, I have good news to report...Buyers are Back! They are not back in droves, mind you, but they are back and the need to plan Open Houses around football is exciting and is to be embraced whether you love football or not. So, let the Playoffs and Super Bowl help you to build momentum going into the Spring.
In South Jersey, where I grew up, agents report that they are gearing up around their Eagles schedule, setting up office pools and competitions, and getting excited about the market in general.
I have lived in Westchester County, NY most of my adult life but never adopted the Giants as my home team. Truth be told, I was raised to believe the myth that Giants fans were all from North Jersey and well, you know...that is a different state altogether.
Anyway, I am proud of the Eagles and happy for all the local excitement. Remember this; when the locals have all their friends and families over to watch the game they just may realize that their house is too darn small and its time to CALL THEIR REALTOR!
Go Eagles!!
Happy New Year to everyone out there. I hope that you have all been enjoying the holiday season and are now ready to hit the ground running in 2009.
Personally, I have never been happier to see the end of a year so this New Year's Eve was especially festive for Juan and I as we said goodbye to 2008. I am excited for this brand new year despite the recession. I actually love the market we are now entrenched in. The interest rates are practically free and I thrive on old school mortgage lending and nuts and bolts real estate transactions that make sense.
Best of luck in 2009 to you all!!
