Hi My Name is Stella Summers! I'm an 11 year old Tabby/Calico Cat... I sleep about 20.5 hours per day, I know... it takes a lot of discipline to sleep that much, but I'm a hard working house cat and I need my beauty sleep.

When I'm not sleeping I like to play with string, watch the birds & squirrels, lick myself and help my mom blog... Many of the posts you read here on Active Rain were written with my help, I'm never far from her and even while I'm sleeping I inspire greatness. That dog park blog she just wrote... that was my idea.

Everyone is thinking about Christmas and what would make the perfect gift. Well, I'm here to help - there are plenty of cats and dogs that need a good home. My mom and dad found me at the Seminole County Humane Society in Sanford. It was love at first sight for my mom... I was sitting in a large cage (no cat or dog should be in a cage) with several other attractive kittens, they were all playing together and I was alone, hissing at them - just playing hard to get you know. A nice young couple had already decided to adopt me and Debbie was very sad because she knew I was the kitten she wanted. Debbie and Cas left the Humane Society just before closing, telling the wonderful people that work there to call them if for any reason I wasn't adopted. It got to closing time and I was very sad because that nice young couple decided they weren't ready to adopt yet. But, Debbie and Cas were so excited to receive the phone call that they could come and pick me up in the morning... I spent one last night alone before my new life began.

I have to say that my adoption day was the best day of my life... I was kissed and cuddled until I fell asleep in my new mom's arms, the best part was waking up in my new home - no cage, just lots of room to explore. I can't imagine anyone having a better life, not even Garfield.

This month we saw a decrease in sales for the month of 54 homes from, 262 to 208...

Did the increasing interest rates in November have an affect on the number of sales? In my opinion, Mortgage Interest Rates are one of the top concerns of Seminole County home buyers today. Interest rates can be the difference between qualifying for the house you love or settling for a home that is smaller or with less bedrooms.

Yes... Those are tails you see wagging!

In a unanimous decision last night the Lake Mary City Commissions approved the plan to add an off the leash Dog Park to Liberty Park in Lake Mary.

Lake Mary Florida (Voted the #4 Place to Live in The Country in 2007 by Money Magazine) is truly on the forefront of enhancing the lives of it's residents. Not only is Lake Mary known for it's top rated School System, but the parks and recreational facilities are second to none. The addition of the dog park will continue to make Lake Mary the top choice for Seminole County home buyers.

Lake Mary is the top choice for Seminole County home buyers and hopefully soon the top choice for Seminole County dog owners too.

Tomorrow night the Lake Mary City Commission is holding a public hearing regarding the proposed off the leash Dog Park in Liberty Park.

Liberty Park is located just North of Downtown Lake Mary on the shores of East Lake Crystal. There is plenty of unused property within the park that would make a perfect playground for Lake Mary Pups.

The project has been proposed by the Trailblazers who also brought Lake Mary the Splash Park & Playground. The estimated $70,000 cost to build the park, on the property that City already owns, would come from private funds.

The Dog Park would be a great asset to Lake Mary residents who currently go outside of Lake Mary to Sanford to use their facilities. The park would continue to bolster the reasons why Lake Mary was voted the #4 Place to Live in the Country in 2007.

The Lake Mary City Commission is meeting tomorrow night (Thursday, December 4th) at 7:00 pm. Please show your support for area pooches and their parents!

Please check back for my update on the status of the Lake Mary Dog Park... I'm hoping to see dogs off the leash in Liberty Park soon.
