This weekend my husband and I attended our friends wedding in Bastrop Texas. After the wedding and reception at the church downtown we all changed out of our Sunday go to meeting clothes into some good ole jeans and boots and met at the Watterson Dance Hall which is located on 304 between Bastrop and Red Rock. Watterson Dance Hall has been around for lots of years and is a great place to go for some live music and dancing. There was a small cover charge to get in ( it was after all Saturday night) but it was worth it. The band was awesome! One of the other highlights at Watterson Dance Hall is the burgers and cold beer. I am tickled pink to announce that Sky Realty has opened a Bastrop County office where I get to hang my hat every day. This old country farm house was converted to a business space many years ago and is one of the most pleasant places to work and meet Clients I have been in. One of my dear friends in Arizona sent me these photos from his Thanksgiving Dinner. He invited some VIP's over to join him for a fairly traditional style meal. He set his table a bit more on the formal end of the scale than I do, with crystal and cloth napkins, and the table colorful for the beginning of the holiday season. He served almost all of the traditional favorites.

There s a really lovely river walk in Bastrop TX that meanders along the bank of the Colorado river on the east side between the Highway 71 bridge Ferry Park - and the Loop 230 bridge and Fisherman's Park in to town. You can park and access the river walk either down behind the Wells Fargo Bank, or at either Park entry. During the Christmas Holiday season there is a Light Parade that is fun to enjoy at night. Smithville Texas is very well know for it's historic and vintage homes and the residents of Smithville take pride in their community. A drive through the Smithville Historic District is always fun during any holiday season as there are always appropriate decorations displayed. Main Street is host to quite a few antique stores where you can find lots of goodies, and there are some great local restaurants and a pub or two for libations. Smithville is located approximately 13 miles southeast of Bastrop on Highway 71 and just over the Colorado River on Loop 230.
