The Ford/Weber Team

1st. time Louisville home buyers seminar

We are so excited, Debra and I are having a 1st. time homebuyers seminar/pizza party. We have invited 800 apartment renters and are really keeping our fingers crossed for a great turn out. We are having a mortgage professional on hand to give free credit reports, pre-qualify buyers or just give information . This informal fun informational pizza party is this Monday Nov. 10th at the Forest Springs Clubhouse from 6:30-7:30, wish us luck.

When your passion is your career!

For as long as I can remember I have had a "thing" for houses. I've always loved studying floor plans and deciding what changes I would make, touring model homes, seeing how people decorate their homes, etc. This is probably why I have built 5 homes so far, and completed an extensive addition on another home.

About every two years I get the itch to move again. Unfortunately, my husband has finally had enough of this and I think the home I'm currently in will be my last. Before I became a Realtor®, I was the Vice President of Human Resources for a large manufacturing company. My favorite aspect of this job was working with the unions trying to find a common ground on issues where everyone would walk away happy. I also enjoyed negotiating the union contracts. I believe my real estate career has allowed me to combine the areas I most enjoy into one very rewarding career.

So although I probably am done searching for my own perfect home, I now have the privilege of helping others find theirs.

A Great Team is Born

For my first post, I thought I would tell you how I met the other half of the Ford/Weber Team. It was 1996 and Carol and I found ourselves, along with another woman whose name I can't remember, in a stuffy little room located off the cafeteria at Crosby Middle School. We had never met, but had both volunteered to make cotton candy for a fundraiser for our daughters' cheerleading squad.

It started out simple enough. Someone showed the three of us how to operate the machine that made the cotton candy and then sadly left us on our own. After about an hour the other woman deserted us and left us to continue on with our first "Lucy and Ethel" adventure. After two hours we were both covered with cotton candy. After three hours the room (including the ceiling) was entirely covered with cotton candy.

By the time someone came to check on us all they could do was laugh and get someone to take our picture, which was featured in the yearbook. We may have made a mess but we got the job done and now 12 years later we are still getting the job done.

It truly was the beginning of a life-long partnership and friendship.
