Sehoy in Daphne, Alabama is coming alive with Spring, from the bright green of new leaves on the trees and shrubs, to the blooming of flowers, so long hidden by winter, to the squeal of the children who've brought their bicycles and badmitton sets and kickballs out of their winter toy boxes. The ducks on Lake Sehoy are out sunning and swimming and fishing and I keep watching for little yellow ducklings in a row, any day now to be following along in the first lessons they'll get from their parents in duck survival. Its a beautiful place, peaceful and alive, with lovely homes, homes along the boulevard to homes around the lake. Homes like this one:

From the craftsman styled exterior, to the finest details on the interior, this home says elegance through and through. It's modestly priced, too, at $258,800. Or, with a 10% down payment, a 4.5%fixed interest rate, for 30 years, the base payment would be approximately $1,180.17 per month (before taxes, insurance and PMI.) I'd say that's an affordable path to building equity in a lovely home, in a lovely subdivision, in one of the coolest counties to live on earth. (Of course I'm biased! - I've lived in Baldwin County my whole life....!)
No, seriously, Alabama's gulf coast has just about everything - easy access to I-10, easy access to the most beautiful beaches in the United States, great schools, great shopping, great outdoor living...
When you are looking to move in to our little corner of the earth, take a look at Sehoy. Truly, you will like what you see!
There's a place down near Fish River where a lovely subdivision has sprung up off the beaten path. Sonora Place offers a rare opportunity to own a new home, built so beautifully well by Darrell Gooden, in Baldwin County, on at least an acre of land. All the expected amenities are here: underground utilities, city sewer, total electric; and the unexpected amenities: the peace and serenity of a rural landscape, where peace and quiet reign, the unexpected appearance of deer in the fading twilight, the whispered scent of evergreen from the christmas tree farm next door.
Darrell Gooden has been building quality homes and developing lovely new home communities in Northwest Florida and Southeast Alabama, including Pensacola, Fairhope, Daphne, Lillian, Milton, Pace and Navarre for better than twenty years. He has built hundreds of homes ranging in size from 1500 to 3200 square feet of living space, with either a 2 or 3 car garage. The four homes available in Sonora Place are 2541 to 3000 square feet of living space. This home for example, is 2700 square feet of living space, has a three car garage and sits on a one acre lot:

The best part of this one is the most recent price reduction. Some of the interior shots that follow will give you an idea what the inside is like, but if you really want to know this home, come visit us!
Just look at this kitchen! Roomy beyond belief, gorgeous countertops, classy white cabinets... Who wouldn't want to spend some time here preparing delights for family and guests?

This great room is ample enough for any style furniture you choose, a huge television (or not!), daydreaming, visiting and holiday decorations. Bonus? Just inside those ledges are located electrical outlets, just in case your dreams include lighted decor!

AHA! The secret passage to the super secret master bedroom. Well maybe not super secret, but tucked away just enough to feel like a secret room. It truly lends itself to additional privacy, and that archway on the left of the picture is the entryway to the kitchen. Midnight kitchen raid anyone?
This is the interior of the gorgeous entry door. See that heavy glass design?

The master bath. Shower, tub, long vanity, double closets. It is a haven from the rest of the world.
Next to the subdivision is one of Baldwin County's best little secrets: Fish River Trees, where you can go cut your own holiday tree, dig up your tree or buy a tree. They already have the holoiday train out and ready to roll for the tree farm tour. I wonder if they will have the reindeer this year? Whatever they add, it will surely be as delightful as always.
Sonora Place is a magical, serene community just East of Fish River, right next to fish river trees and some of the most beautiful land you'll ever see. It is one of the lovely parts of Baldwin County that might be your next home.
I decided today that I would mosey on through The Waters near Fairhope, a grand and breathtaking new development complete with lakes and boathouses on the lakefront lots. Home construction has been ongoing for about six or eight months now and some of those homes are now complete, exept for those punch lists and final walkthroughs, of course.

One of the homes under construction will be the showcase home at the annual Parade of Homes sponsored by the Home Builder's Association in September or October of this year. It is being built by Pat Achee; some of the others are Christian Augustin, Todd Booth, Dan Mooney, and Cochran Custom Homes.
The lakefront lots all have a dock and gazebo:

Families have begun to move in to the finished homes they've purchased and the whole subdivision, (I wish there was a more lovely word than subdivision for this development) is beginning to look more settled and more stately. These homes are some of the finest I have had the pleasure of viewing, with every imaginable luxury and no detail overlooked.
There are common areas, that only pictures can describe and even then not do this development justice:

There are currently seven homes on the market for sale, in various stages of completion. They range in price from $849,000 to $1,385,000. There are homes that were and are being custom built for those who purchased their own lots and then contracted with their builders.
All in all, The Waters at Fairhope is truly exquisite, and it is very exciting to see so much construction and activity going on there. Call me impressed.
