Again this morning ,the driver of a silver honda crx , decided they didn't have a minute to spare ....
and while the bus driver was leaning on the horn with flashing red lights and a stop sign out.... went right passed the bus
Thankfully the little girl waiting for the bus was with her mom and didn't move,,,and everyone is safe.This stop is the one just before my house . SO I saw this incident.

I am asking everyone out there to be extra cautious . We've all been "stuck" behind a school bus , and annoyed and bothered, but in the long run the kids safety overrules all.
In the mornings especially , when we're rushing to start our day ......it might not seem like such a big deal . If the mom on the driveway is like me, she got the plate of that silver crx ( as I did a week ago when another car blew passed the bus at our stop ) I know the bus driver got the plate , she carries a notebook. A sad commentary on just how often this happens.
In the morning there is NO excuse for passing a bus. The kids are waiting for the bus, clearly visible..... .if you see a bus flashing yellow and see a kid a few yards away ,, well,,,it's more than likely stopping for that kid ! and if it doesn't ,, what's the worst thing that happened to you ? you had to slow down for a minute ?
I can understand more confusion in the afternoons , when the bus is dropping kids off,,,because there is no visual cue as to exactly where that bus is stopping.
But if it's flashiing yellow , it will be flashing red in seconds,,,,,,, so slow down and be ready
still not an excuse for passing a stopped school bus

The fine , as I mentioned in the past is a minimum of $250
up to 5 points on your license and the possibility of 30 days in jail !
minimally a big hit to the wallet,,,,,,,,, and hopefully all kids are safe
the max ? I don't even want to say it out loud .............. and if it ever happened no sane person would be able to live with themselves
and the only "reason" would be to save a minute .. 60 seconds ?,,,,,,is it worth it ?

STOP for the school bus

This post to my blog is TRUE , these incidents happen a few times a month

I'm hoping enough people will read them and just take action

This morning I was on the driveway waiting with 3 of my children for the school bus. The bus approached with the yellow lights flashing , then put the stop sign out and the lights turned to red . A man in a sliver crossover made a decision . He decided that what he need to do, was more important than my kids.
He decided that where he needed to get to , couldn't wait ONE minute. He decided to ignore the flashing lights , stop sign, and honking horn of the bus , and he decided to pass the bus .

This is not , by any means the first time this has happened and I'm sure it won't be the last. This is the first time I was able to get the plate # . I also saw the bus driver do the same. I have already reported the plate # and incident. The bus driver has to wait until she safely picks up 30 kids and gets them to the school , but I know she will also report the incident.

If you find yourself making a decision to pass a school bus, you need to re-evaluate . Add 5 minutes to your morning commute , change your route ,
just plain SLOW down. If thinking about the kids isn't enough incentive , then think about this : The first offense fine is a minimum of $250 , up to 4 points on your license and the possibility of 30 days in jail !
