Reflect on Success and Learn from Mistakes!

Reflect on their Success and Learn from Mistakes

Purpose of this action: To look back on what we do right and what we could do better and to use that reflection to improve our decisions, choices, and actions

Confident people look within to improve what is out.

Quotes to Keep In Mind:

"When you are successful and you don't know why, then when things go wrong, you can't fix it" --Dennis Giannetti

Plan to Follow:

This week we are going to go to the bookstore, or any store that we can buy a journal or something that we can use as a journal. In this journal, we are going to answer the following questions for each day of the week:

Success:

  1. What happened today that I consider a successful event?
  2. Why do I consider it to be a successful event?
  3. What did I do to contribute to this success?
  4. How could I use this success in the future?

Mistakes:

  1. What mistake did I make today?
  2. Why did I make it?
  3. How did I contribute to the mistake specifically?
  4. What could I do to turn this mistake into a success in the future?

How to Succeed in the Coaching Process

How To Succeed in the Coaching Process

General Expectancies:

•· Consistency. Bi weekly is often the best option, though some people are able to go week to week or close to it. But no matter the amount of sessions, they need to be seen as a priority. A serious personal situation or an urgent client matter may take precedent, but these meetings have to be seen as a priority not an option that can be pushed aside.

•· Clear Commitment: This is to your coach, yourself, and most important the process.

•· Focus on Being Accountable and Getting Things Done: You have a metrics Matrix that YOU set goals for. Reasons don't bring results and procrastination does not bring productivity.

What You Can Expect From The Coach:

•· Authentic and Sincere Support

•· Curiosity, Interest, Guidance, and Support

•· Experience, Strategy, and Collaborative Partnership

Your Key Responsibilities:

•· The filling out and sending of the Metrics Matrix

•· Timelines to accomplish those goals that are not on matrix or extend past a weekly measure.

Coaching works, but it is not a process that is used just because you are in a slump or are lost in what to do next. Coaching is about creating habits, improving mindset, and consistently improving.

To use a metaphor: Coaching is like climbing a mountain with no peak...the higher you go, the different your view. How much you see is up to you.

If You Really Want Success......

If you really want success, Let Go of Your Attachments...

Chances are, people who are solely focused on the end result don't have a process they have faith in. As such, they concentrate more on trying to control the outcome: pushing for what they want rather than managing the process.

Yet, trying to achieve more without a process to guide you is like would be similar to driving from New York to California without a map while wearing a blindfold!

If you continue your quest for success with your eyes focused on the finish line, you will miss out on the journey. And when you miss out on the journey....success becomes something in the distant future that we hope for instead of a process that we experience everyday.

Happy New Year????

Well, certainly, I want to wish everyone a happy new year. But I had a couple of questions first.

First, can we really wish for a happy new year or do we have to take steps to create this happiness on a consistent basis?

Second, and perhaps more important....what is happiness for you?

In my experience as an agent, coach, manager etc I have learned that happiness is not limited or truly defined by what you get, but how you get it and more importantly, why you want it in the first place.

I may want to make $500,000 but how I choose to approach that result will define who I am and my ability to control that outcome. More so, understanding why I want it--be it the diminishment of pain or the pursuit of greater pleasures (for myself or others) will give me purpose, passion, and the willingness to get it.

So, here is a wish from me to you, not as much for a happy new year....as it is a clear idea of what that happiness means to you and for the courage, willingness, and wisdom to create a plan to make it happen. And, might I add, a wish that you know and see that in the end, it is not what is at the end of the tunnel, it is the ride indeed that will being you the most consistent, moment to moment happiness you can ever experience.

Ask any baby if you could and they would tell you that happiness for them is not the goal of growing up, but the moment they are in in the process of doing so. (think about that one)

Happy New Year Everyone! (and all that means to you)

A Holiday Poem From an Executive Sales Coach

It's holiday season, the gifts have been bought.
The year almost over, the lessons been taught

We look to the future with hope and good thought
To at least make enough and cover the presents we bought

Now, it goes without saying that these times mean so much
They are times of reflection, of giving, and such

We give to each other and we give from the heart
We look to the new year as an exciting new start

Yet, it seems every new year, though we aspire to more
We soon find ourselves walking through the same door

The door of our habits, of patterns and fears
Those things that we do, seems year after year

We say what we want and we promise to do it
But life steps in front and says "Try to get through it."

And that is the moment we know the mark of our billing
To know who is ready, but more so who's willing

For its one thing to want yet another to need
But in both cases its the willing who eventually succeed

Many are ready and many are able
But few are to willing when they sit at that table

They sit and they look at the menu of choices
But then they hear past--all those negative voices

"You can't" "You won't" "What if" they all say
These negative voices you hear every day

Yet, just like a menu, we have lots of choices
Things we can do to overcome those voices

We find what we want, and we order our choice
We order so boldly and we find a new a new voice

So take that new voice and do what you will
It's those who are willing that climb that steep hill

And as the year ends, it's no resolution
No, this year it's more a New You Revolution

A year's not enough for all you can Be
But this moment is plenty to start being FREE

Free from attachment and involved in the now
Attached only to purpose, to why, not just how

This is your moment, to order your choice
To make your selection and find your real voice

This is your moment to set yourself free
To know who you are, what you want, all you will be

So, enjoy these few days in the many of life
Enjoy without stress, without conflict and strife

For now is the time if any to see
That if you are willing, anything can and will be

Happy Holidays everyone.....be ready 2009 will only be the start of what will be your decade to come.
