Firelight is a community in Highlands Ranch, CO.
Located in the Southridge area - Firelight is known for its higher location - some of the homes are actually on the highest lots in Highlands Ranch. This of course provides really terrific views form many homes in Firelight of both the front range and downtown Denver. Some folks even enjoy the sparser twinkling of the Denver Tech Center.
But one of the really nice parts of Firelight is its proximity to the Back Country Wildnerness Open Space. The homes that back to The Back Country Wildneress truly are something to see.
You look out back, and there it is. Colorado.
Its not your average open space - its really something else. It has rugged hills and valleys that leave you to feel that you are light years away from the hustle and bustle of chaotic life. Even those that may not back to the open space, its a mere hop, skip & jump to enjoy the trails and Colorado outdoors of the BackCountry Wilderness area from Firelight.

The photos in this post are all taken from the backyard of one of my current listings in Firelgiht - Highlands Ranch. From your back door you are at the edge of the BackCountry Wilderness. If you are planning to sell your Denver home this fall or winter, here is a quick tip for getting a home on the Denver real estate market from October - March, particularly if you have a gorgeous yard.
Take out your camera and snap a few photos. Your beautiful garden with perennials, flowering bushes and the like. If your yard is covered in snow during showings, and your landscaping is a true gem, it can be nice to show off what is buried below the frozen ground.
If you have photos like this at your fingertips come December, your Denver Realtor will thank you.

I posted early in the week and the Highlands Ranch Computers & Electronics Recycling Event is going on right now. The event is free (small charge for televisions).

I brought my stuff over this morning and it was quite impressive. So much STUFF. I brought an old printer, some phones and an old broken PDA.

The recycling event goes on until 1pm - don't miss it, head over now - it could be at least 6 months or so before the next one.

High School Football in Highlands Ranch is big. Really big. With 4
high schools in the area, 3 of them play each other in football and as you can imagine the rivalries get big. You know I love attending football if you read my post bout football in Highlands Ranch last year as well.
Fall is crisp with cool mornings and breezy nights and the lights at Shea stadium in Highlands Ranch are on Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights through the end of October.
High School Football in Highlands Ranch is a chance for my own family to get out together for some affordable family bonding & fun and cheer on the teams. Gotta Love it!
Here are the varsity schedules for the 4 high schools in Highlands Ranch for the 2008 Fall Season. Most tickets can be bought at the door, but for big games, contact the schools to buy them in advance - especially some of the cross town rival games. They are often sold out.

Its the time of year to recycle your electronic and computers. The HRCA routinely organizes this event and it couldn't be coming at a better time for
me. We did have one CPU go "Poof" this year - so it is a great opportunity to get rid of it and out of my house - in proper & safe way.
The event is free, however this time around optional donations that are suggested at $20 will be taken for the Highlands Ranch Community Scholarship Fund or the Highlands Ranch Cultural Association. There is a nominal fee of $15 to recycle small televisions and $30 for large ones.
The computers and Electronic Recycle Event will take place in Highlands Ranch Town Center (Highlands Ranch Pkway & Dorchester) on August 23rd from 9am - 3pm. Its really quite a sight to see everything that is collected. I have now brought items over to this event 2 different times, and it has always been well organized and speedy. Round up your recyclables now and be ready - you'll be glad you did.
Some of the items that can be recycled at the event are: Computers, Lap Tops, Fa Machines, Printers, Monitors, Computer Mice, Radios, Phones, PDA's, Cell Phones, televisions (see cost for T.V.s above) and more. For a complete list, click here. More information can also be found at www.executiverecycle.com/.
The HRCA has many events like this for the community throughout the year. You can always check the HRCA website for ongoing events and they even have email alerts available now as well.
