It isn't everyday that you get to meet a business owner that takes the time to sit down and discuss business and life in general with you at your first meeting. I had the opportunity to meet the owner of Central Repair Service of Cincinnati Ohio, Garrett Slone. The first time I was exposed to this business was when I needed a new condenser replaced on my refrigerator in my garage. The service person was on time, replaced what was needed and left within one hour.

I heard of them later on the radio on a local Cincinnati Ohio radio station playing a commercial. I went in to see the owner in person yesterday and was very pleased with my conversation with him. He took the time to explain how thier business worked, how they kept the best employees working for them and how he cares for his staff. I was very impressed with this operation and admired the personal touch that they have employed here.

Saturday our Southern Ohio Association of Realtors presented its Elite Club Awards to the Realtor members of the association. The award ceremony looked more like the Oscars than a traditional Realtor banquet. The red carpet was out, a camera crew was in place and everyone was dressed in their best attire.

The location was the Oasis Golf and Conference Centerin Loveland, Ohio, Clermont County. The attendees came from all over the Greater Cincinnati Ohio area including Hamilton County, Brown County, Warren County and Butler County. Mainly the Realtors attending this board were concentrated from Milford, Loveland, Batavia, Amelia, Eastgate, Anderson, Mt. Washington, Terrace Park, Indian Hill, Madeira, and other surrounding suburbs and towns.

The levels awarded were Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond, with Diamond being the top award. I was honored to represent the Tye Group there and received the top award, Diamond Level. Thank you to all my clients who made this possible along with the support and partnership with Jessica Tye and Debbie Long.

The past year has been more difficult than others to obtain this award. We definitely had to work harder to achieve this. We have been fortunate to make this club 4/4 years that we had in service as Realtors. The first year we obtained Gold, then the past three years Diamond.

I am happy to be a part of this organization and hope to earn this award again for 2009.

I have been accumulating some money saving tips for a while and thought I would write them down here:

1. Buy a coupon book. My favorite ones for this area are the Zone Book, the Buy It In Clermont Book, Buy it in Milford book and the Entertainment Book.

2. Pick up a mailer: My favorite of these are Val Pak, Reach Magazine and Super Shopper.

3. Kids eat free night at Skyline Chili: Can't beat that for the kids on Wednesday night. We frequent the one in Miami Township on St Rt 28.

4. Bob Evans Kids Coupons: We like the one by 275 and St Rt 28 in Miami Township, Milford Ohio. The coupons give you one free kids meal for each paying adult. You can pick them up at the register.

5. Free Directory Assistance Calls: I like 1-800-Free-411. There are some ads on there but it is FREE!

6. Free Google Directory Assistance: Call 1-800-Goog-411

7. Print out coupons to your favorite business on www.Valpak.com. Just enter in your zip code like Milford Ohio and it will sort the coupons out in a radius from your zip.

When I started at Keller Williams after leaving Huff Realty two years ago I had several of my customers ask "Who is Keller Williams?" In my last blog (yesterday) I took some statistics from our last sales meeting at Keller Williams and explained that we may have actually hit a real bottom in house prices in January of 2009. Well today, while scanning the Yahoo news I clicked on their real estate section to see what the latest news there was. I was pleased to see the same chart that I reported on yesterday but this time taken from Zillow and the local auditors sites versus the Greater Cincinnati MLS system. For fear of plagiarism or any copyright law infringement I don't want to copy and paste the chart here but if you go to Yahoo, then Real Estate, Click on Cincinnati Ohio you will see the same chart. If you pull a 5 year average you will see the exact dip I am referring to in January. Very interesting to have that confirmed. I hope I am right? Feels good sometimes.
