Taylor Rork Joins the Living In Jackson Hole Team

We are pleased to announce that Taylor Rork has decided to join our team. Taylor's background is a welcome addition to the team and if you read her bio below you'll see why.

Taylor’s Jackson Hole roots span back nearly two decades and she truly loves this valley in which she lives. More so, she cares that her clients feel the same and she knows the first step is finding that perfect home. Taylor embarked on her Real Estate career years prior to her licensure. Avid about homes and design from a young age, she spent hours researching and practicing architecture and frequented open houses in her hometown communities of Jackson Hole, WY and Annapolis, MD.

Gaining significant Real Estate experience starting in her early 20’s, in areas such as residential, vacant land and commercial sales and leasing, as well as both residential and commercial development, Taylor has accomplished a great deal. Amongst her major achievements are helping to build and launch a successful residential sales and leasing brokerage firm, which still thrives in downtown Manhattan and at the age of 28, she listed and sold one of La Jolla, CA’s oldest and most famous beachfront estates, formerly owned by Oscar Winning Actor Cliff Robertson, for nearly $20 million. Taylor is passionate about all facets of real estate and can get your property sold regardless of its shape, size, or price tag!

As a graduate of the University of Arizona and then a law student at the University of San Diego, Taylor’s educational background includes Advertising, Public Relations, Journalism, and Property Law, which further add to her skill set as your Realtor.

An avid runner and sports enthusiast, Taylor frequents Jackson Hole’s Mountain trails no matter the season, on skis in the snow, and in trail shoes with her golden retriever during the warmer months. You may find her volunteering at the Jackson Hole Therapeutic Riding Association, at local Animal Shelters, or assisting in local fundraising events.

With not only a local, but national presence and exposure Taylor has the ability to get the job done with ease, and wants her clients to have fun during the process!

Jackson Hole October 2008 Monthly Sales Data

Jackson Hole, like the rest of the country, continues to experience a slow down in its real estate market. It is fair to note that we are right in the middle of what we call the "off season" in terms of visitation to the area. Also Interesting to note is that high end sales continue to help keep the market alive as 18 of the 92 transactions were for more than $1,000,000. One residence sold in the neighborhood of $19 Million during the month of October, so clearly there are still some high end buyers willing to enter the Jackson Hole market. Also interesting to note is that Jackson area sales volume for the month was higher than other areas which bucked the trend we've been seeing. This is still true even if you take the large sale into account.

Despite all the negative news coverage there is money available. Jackson Hole banks are uniquely positioned to lend money because they have a complete understanding and history of the Jackson Hole real estate market having been involved in it for years. In addition there are buyers with cash, or ready access to money, that are viewing this as an excellent time to enter the market as evidenced by the many large deals that have been put together this year. If you're thinking of listing you have to be realistic about pricing and if you are there are people who are willing to buy.

New Website Features

My real estate website recently became the first in Jackson Hole to implement IDX technology directly into the site. Working with FBS Data Systems, the developer of the FlexMLS system, I embeded a code on my page that allows my clients to access the public MLS direclty from my site. By integrating these features into my site I can collaborate with my clients on listings they are interested in and communicate with them directly through their own portal they set up. FBS is a good company and they have continued to implement new features and functionality into the product which meshes well my own development strategy. I am committed to implementing more technology into the site that will make it easier for clients to access information and have a richer experience we they visit the site. In the coming months we have several great features that will be coming on line and they too will be a first of their kind for Jackson Hole real estate web sites.

Hanging the Tram

Well it's official the new Jackson Hole Mountain Resort tram has been hoisted on to the cables. The mountain has decided to keep it under wraps until the inaugural voyage on December 20th. I guess you can kind of look at it as a early Christmas present to us! Here is a picture someone snapped of it going up:
