Happenings in and around Jackson County GA

With this post I will be sharing some of the events going on this month in Jackson County GA. This will probably be one of my all time favorite posts. Anyone who knows me very well would tell you that December is my favorite month, even though I'm not fond of cold weather. I start decorating my home the day after Thanksgiving and enjoy all my "stuff" until New Years Day.

I hope this information helps you to have a wonderful holiday season!!

The City of Jefferson Christmas parade will be held on Saturday December 6th at 3pm. Dress warmly, grab a cup of hot chocolate or coffee and enjoy the festive music and floats. And of course a glimpse of Santa.

Santa will also be making appearances in Nicholson and Pendergrass. There will be a tree lighting in Nicholson Saturday evening Dec. 6th. The Pendergrass Library will host a photo opportunity with Santa on Friday Dec. 5th. There will be a Christmas in the Park event in Maysvilleon Saturday Dec.6th. This is an annual event that inculdes booths, refreshments and Santa. There will also be a tour of Homes.

The City of Commerce will be hosting events Saturday and Sunday Dec. 6th and 7th. There will be a Secret Santa workshop hosted by the DDA & Pilot Club and an Antique Car Show. The parade will be on Sunday Dec. 7th at 3pm.

The Hoschton Women's Club will also be hosting it's Annual Santa at the Depot on Saturday Dec. 6th.

Celebrate St. Patricks Day at Chateau Elan Braselton, GA

Celebrate St. Patty's Day at Paddy's Irish Pub located in Chateau Elan. Festivities will begin at 5:00 pm. Davey Clark, Irish musician, playing at Paddy's and Bulletproof, rock and dance band, playing in the Pavilion.

Below is an excerpt from the Chateau Elan Website describing the Pub,

Paddy's Irish Pub was officially commissioned in Dublin in 1997 by Château Élan Winery & Resort founders, Dr. Donald and Nancy Panoz. Cantrell & Crowley, a Dublin based architectural and interior design firm designed and built the pub.

The Panoz's who lived and worked in Ireland for 20 years commissioned Paddy's as a reminder of their fond experiences in the auld sod.

Completely authentic, all of Paddy's furnishings and fixtures were created in Ireland. The pub was then shipped to Château Élan Winery & Resort in Braselton, Georgia, reassembled here, and opened in July of 1997. Paddy's is a spirited pub serving up traditional Irish food, beverage, and live music.

Kubota announces new facility in Jefferson GA

The Kubota Corp. will break ground on a new 350,000 sq ft facility located behind the existing Kubota building in the McClure Industrial Park located in Jefferson Ga. This is the fifth facility to open in GA. This facility is set to open late 2008. Plans are to invest more than 16 million in this distribution center.

More growth for Braselton, Ga. in Jackson County

Final approval on commercial development in Braselton, GA. Liberty Village will be located across from Chateau Elan on the corner of Hwy 211 and Liberty Church Rd. Per the article below some buildings could be in place within the next 60 days.
