Cute Kirkland Starter Home Staged to Sell: It's all in the Details

02-06-10

This adorable 1100 square foot home in Kirkland was so fun to stage!

As always, we designed a custom staging plan for this cozy little place. The furniture we selected was just the right scale for the spaces, showing potential buyers how they could "live large" in this home.

Living Room: Love the brown paisley design pillows, repeating the subtle paisley patterns in the rug.

Kitchen:

Dining Room: The real estate agent was concerned that this dining area was too small for a table and four chairs. With this glass, wrought iron and woven dining set buyers don't have to wonder if they could seat four (or more) people in this space.

Family Room: One of my favorite ways to accessorize the coffee table - a tray with refreshments. Who wouldn't want to spend time here!

Master Bedroom:

Guest Room

Bathroom: With the bright yellow paint, we decided to add even more color to showcase this bathroom.

Boy's Bedroom: In small bedrooms, it is important to show potential buyers that they can comfortably fit a twin bed, night table, and dresser in the room.

Finding our Staging Inspiration in Art: PEACE

As a professional real estate stager, I am constantly shopping, looking for wonderful pieces that we can add to our inventory. Each of our staging clients get a custom design to most effectively showcase their home to potential buyers. No "cookie cutter" stagings for us!

On a recent shopping trip I found some artwork that I really loved. Here it is above the fireplace: PEACE. Love the colors, the theme, and the fact that there is no glass, which would cause glare. This artwork was the inspriation for the entire color palette for this staging.

Woodinville's Bear Creek Country Club Home is Casually Elegant

One of my favorite decorating styles is what I call "casually elegant". To me that means a home enviornment that is beautiful, yet welcoming and approachable, not stuffy or formal.

We staged this vacant home in Woodville's Bear Creek Country Club last weekend. The view out the living room windows is of the community golf course. This staged home epitomizes a "casually elegant" lifestyle!

Magnolia View Home is Staged in Full Color

We love staging homes that have wonderful colors! They photograph well and are fun to stage because we can plan our staging design to complement the existing colors in the house.

Yesterday we staged a mid-century modern view home in the Magnolia area of Seattle. The existing color palette in the home is fabulous, so we selected furniture, accessories and artwork to play up these gorgeous colors. Here are the results:

Small Spaces only Look Smaller When Empty

01-21-10

This cute Crown Hill Seattle bungalow is hitting the market today. The living room has great natural light and features hardwood floors.

Here is the "before staging" photo of the living room. Would potential homebuyers searching the internet see this as a charming space to come home to at the end of the day? Would they be able to picture a comfortable furniture arrangement? Would they fall in love with this house? Maybe...

Staged living room:

Yes, it is true: Small spaces only look smaller when empty. This living room not only looks larger with properly scaled furniture, it is welcoming and inviting to potential buyers. Now this home says, "Move in and enjoy!" to people searching on-line for a cozy in-city retreat to call home.
