Staging in Seattle Rain: $1M Phinney Ridge Craftsman

01-14-12
Diana Young

Today we are staging a cute bungalow cottage style home near Green Lake in Seattle. Rain is predicted and snow tomorrow, when we are scheduled to stage a home on the eastside of Seattle in Clyde Hill. Yes, it does occassionally snow in Seattle and when it does the city basically shuts down.

As a stager, rain is not my friend! In and out of the truck in the downpour makes for some very soggy stagers! This job was so large it took two trucks full of inventory.

Last week on what I think had to be the rainest day in Seattle for quite some time, we staged this beautiful Phinney Ridge craftsman. It is just steps away from the wonderful Woodland Park Zoo and has fantastic views from every level.

Enjoy the photo tour!

Get Your Listing Noticed! Condo Before and After Staging

Here in the Seattle area, there are a lot of condos for sale. In order to get buyers interested and through the door, a listing needs to "shine on-line".

Which presentation do you think will attract the most buyer attention?

Does your listing say "Welcome Home"?

During these cold and dark fall and winter months, it is more important than ever to show a warm and cozy home to potential buyers. People want to envision themselves enjoying a home with family and friends.

So, what is your listing saying to potential buyers? Here is a home we staged last week in suburban Seattle.

Before staging: "I have just been vaccumed to perfection, so don't bother walking in here! This is a boring room anyway, so you probably won't use it much if you live here."

After staging: "Come on in and welcome home! You'll love living here."

Staging the Classic Northwest Home

One of the things I love about staging is creating a "just right" interior design plan for each home's architectural style. Yesterday we staged this suburban Seattle home, featuring a wood ceiling and huge stone fireplace in the family room.

Family Room before staging:

Family Room after staging: Love the colors in the stone fireplace, which is balanced by a tall palm and artwork.

Kitchen: No Seattle morning is complete without the coffee! (Make mine Starbucks with a bit of half and half).

Staging the True "Living Room" in Suburban Seattle

10-17-11

Think about your home...where do you spend most of your time? The formal living room or the "great room", often a living/dining/kitchen space. If you are like most people, the gathering place for family and friends is usually the area closest to the kitchen.

In this suburban Seattle starter home we staged last weekend, the family room off the kitchen looked small prior to staging. With so many windows and doors in this room, it might be difficult for potential buyers to figure out how to create a comfortable furniture arrnagement here.

Staging allows buyers to envision themselves moving right in and enjoying the space! Welcome home!
