Everyone knows how much I love this time of the year because of all of the festivals going on in the area. This weekend I am going to attend the Looney Pioneer House Fall Festival. The 1820 two story log house is going to be open for tours. Come and enjoy period demonstrations in blacksmithing and basket weaving along with many others. It is going to be a fascinating event for people of all ages. Proceeds from the festival will go toward a new roof for the Looney House. Come join me and help maintain a piece of the area's history. It will be Saturday, October 9, 2010 from 9:00 to 3:30.

Homestead Hollow Harvest Festival October 1, 2, & 3, 2010
Each year everyone who enjoys outdoor festivals has Homestead Hollow marked on their calendars for the "go to event of the season". You have two days left to enjoy the awesome Harvest Festival, October 2 & 3, 2010.
You feel as though you have stepped back into time the moment you walk into the park. The cabins on the property were built as they would have been in the early pioneer days.
The candle making demonstrations were fun to watch while listening to the music on stage by some of the area's top local singers. There are also many activities for the children to enjoy.
While enjoying your walk around the park, you have talented artist who brought with them their best work for you to consider. I purchased some unique gifts for Christmas.
Charles Beams wood turnings was jaw dropping beautiful.
Kingfisher Designs jewelry was lovely and very unique.

Thank you Pell City for a nice surprise on my Birthday.
I was thrilled when I came home to see that the road in front of my house had been resurfaced. The paving was professionally done and butted to each driveway nicely. Thank you Pell City I could not have received a better surprise on my Birthday.
With all of the work on the sewer system, along with plain old wear and tear, the road was a mess. The ruts and patch jobs were hard on the vehicles that traveled it daily.
The newly paved road makes the entire neighborhood look better. It is encouraging to see so much progress being made in Pell City.
Thank you Pell City your timing could not have been better. It was a nice surprise on my Birthday.
The Riverside International Chili Cook Off Was A Great Success
An awesome group of people were participating in The Riverside International Chili Cook Off Saturday and it was a great success. The smells in the air, made you want to stay and sample each and every one.
Meet Hoyt and Susan Patterson who along with their friend Vicky Barker came from Ashville, Al to complete in the competition. The Alabama fans had their gas stove fired up and were cooking the best smelling chili.
Heather Allen, Angelia Price, Ali and Kat with the Riverside Fire Department Auxiliary were completing with the other town departments for the people choice winner. Heather's husband is Seven Allen the lieutenant for the fire department.
The Riverside Fire Department Auxiliary won their division...... Congratulations.
The Riverside International Chili Cook Off was a great success. The proceeds from the event went to the Riverside Volunteer Fire Department.

In June of 2008, I decided to move back to my home ...the mountains of North Alabama. Life had changed drastically for me and I just wanted to be back in my comfort zone.
Having a great affection for the lakes of North Alabama, I decided to settle somewhere on Logan Martin Lake. Exactly where would require some searching.
