I love quilting!

I'm starting a new class for a new embroidery / quilt in the morning... We are starting The Latte Quilt. It's for sure not a new quilt and I have wanted to make it, even before I got my machine that embroiders.

I love this part of making a new quilt. I like choosing the fabrics.. the threads... all of it. But I am still pretty new to the embroidery part.

When I'm starting to piece a quilt, in my mind I can see exactly how I want it to look.. how it will look with the fabrics... I can see it all! But since I started the embroidery part... my mind can't quite see how the treads are going to look... exactly where they are going to be... I'm just not quite there yet. But, I'm going to keep working on it.

Are there a lot of you out there in The Rain that are into machine embroidery on your quilts?

Happy Thanksgiving

Before we get any further into this week, I thought I better get this out there... Actually I just wanted to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving.

If I waited much longer I would be trying to type, while I was in the midst of chopping, dicing, sauteing, stuffing & maybe even baking... and I don't multi-task that well.

Have a Save & Happy Thanksgiving

The Old Cedar Forge

I just read in the North Bay Review that this will be the last Holiday Open House for The Old Cedar Forge here in Allyn. It has been a local tradition here for longer than I have lived here. Jerry & Ina Culberson are retiring at the end of this year.

In case you don't see the North Bay Review, the Open House is Sat. December 13th from 9am - 6pm.

Kids are Smart... Very Smart!

My aunt told me this story the other night.

It was her birthday, so the family took her out to dinner.... The kids, grandkids & great grandkids... They had a really nice dinner and were sitting around just visiting. Everyone was having a good ol' time until some of the grandkids and great grand kids were starting to get tired, bored or just wanted to go home. This is when the young ones take control...

Luke who is 2 and will be, for 2 more days, is done... he's crawling over the table, under the table, through table legs, people legs and is now moving into cranky. Finally my aunt picked him up, put him in the chair next to hers and told him he needed to sit down, and they would be ready to go in just a few minutes.

And he says something like... "If I have to sit here.... I'm going to pick my nose!". Now.. kids are giggling, parents are trying to talk to Luke and as quickly as possible everyone is getting their stuff together to go. It's weird how someone so young knows exactly what to say to get to go home. Little kids are smart... very smart.

Blog Virgin??

OK... I jumped in, the water so far is nice and warm and I'm treading water as fast as I can. Trust me ya'all don't want to see a picture of me floating around in the water somewhere... not a pretty picture for your mind‘s eye :)

Most of the agents in our offices are either moving in the direction of becoming familiar with Active Rain.. are already very active and having a really good time, as well as learning from others out there... and / or now want everyone to have as much of a good time as they are having. That would be why I'm out here floating around right now!

Thank you, Dinah and Richard for pointing & moving me in this direction. Dinah wrote a blog welcoming me to AR. There were several nice comments back to her about it / me... thank you everyone! ... That also helped me get to this floating around in the warm water...

So not that I have my first... out of the way... for the rest of the newbies / virgins out there, "Come on in, the water is fine".
