The Bagel Bakery - Thornton

Last week we were looking for a new place to have lunch and I remembered there is a new bagel place at 128th & Colorado Blvd - I had read about it being a "mom & pop" place! I love to try new places, especially local run places that are close to home! This one did NOT disappoint!

I found the shop decorated very neatly, kind of old fashioned and yet homey and welcoming! I found some great jewelry for sale, and had so much fun looking at the fun displays I almost forgot to order! So instead of reading the menu, I asked for a suggestion from the very nice man behind the counter. He recommended the Maddison and YUMMY!!!! It was GREAT! They also offer smoothies, coffee, and some great looking pastries! We shared a very good biscuit with cream cheese frosting yummy stuff in it! The nice man (I forgot to ask names, as I was distracted by eating!) even warmed it up for us!

Prices were very good - lunch special that day was $6 for a sandwich and drink! Did I mention how really cute it is decorated? And the people were really nice and friendly!!!

We brought a few bagels home and they were good too - they make them on site! I hear they make their own cream cheese flavors so I am anxious to go back and try those as well.

Be sure to stop by and give them a try....The Bagel Bakery & Coffee House - 128th & Colorado Blvd in Thornton!

National Western Stock Show Kick-off Parade, Denver, CO

National Western Stock Show - Denver, CO

Yesterday was the Stock Show Kick-off Parade, it was a beautiful day for a parade and what a sight to see!   Every January the National Western Stock Show comes to town, you can always tell when they have arrived - there are more cowboy hats and LOTS of trailers for livestock!  Being a native I have attended many stock show events; kids in the state go there as a field trip nearly every year at every age; each time you see something different & fun!  But never before have I attended the parade - now I can cross that off my list of Denver things to do!

The biggest draw and most amazing thing to see is the Longhorn Steers being "driven" through the central part of Downtown Denver!  What a sight for a city girl!   These massive animals being lead through town like it is an every day event!

There were bands, marching and riding on a trailer, there were lots of horses, a stage coach, and even our bravest Americans

The weather was beautiful and it was a great day to be in Denver!  If you have never visited the Stock Show, this is your year!  Take time to enjoy one of the great benefits of living here!
