Austin TX Weather has been crazy H-O-T all summer. September 1 is supposed to be the start of Fall, but we're still seeing triple digits here. It's been 78 days of triple digits to be exact.
It's official, August 2011 is the HOTTEST month EVER in Austin with an average temperature of 91.6 degrees. Funny, I'm thinking we just went through this... oh yes, we were the hottest month ever in July 2011 with 89.7 degrees... I think I would kill for the cooler days of July over what we had in August! There were only two days in all of August that were not triple digits!
Last week, we also tired the HIGHEST temperature ever recorded in Austin TX weather of 112 degrees. No, that's not like an Arizona "dry" 112...
According to the weather people, we're supposed to get a COLD front starting Monday to take us to the low 90's. The low 90's?? That sounds so C-O-L-D!!

Relocation to Austin TX is huge for several reasons. Besides being at the top of so many lists, word of mouth is just as powerful.
I have relocation buyers coming into town next week. I asked them why they chose Austin TX to relocate to. The response was, "We were on vacation in Costa Rico recently and it seemed like everyone we met was from Texas. No one had a bad thing to say about Texas, and they said if we were to move anywhere, it needed to be Austin because of what it has to offer, so we contacted you."
Austin may be the top of Economic Recovery and near the top for Boomers to move and many other lists, but nothing tops the effect of people verbally telling people how great a city is.
These people are selling their house in California to move to Austin on the recommendation of strangers! Now that's powerful word of mouth!!

Lake Pointe Bee Cave Austin TX had a fabulous Summer with 29 home sales from June 1 - August 31, 2011! That's a huge increase over Lake Pointe homes sold in the same time period in 2010 of 19. 53% more homes were sold, to be exact!
Can you say, "WOW!"
This is just another reason why real estate is LOCAL and NOT National! Over and over again, we hear on the National news that real estate is not doing very well, but here we are in one of the top areas in the country with a 53% sales increase over the previous year! I say that's good stuff!
Not only are houses in Lake Pointe selling, but they're selling quickly, which shows high demand. Here is a chart from June - August 2010.
As you can see, 47% of Lake Pointe homes for sale sold within 30 days with a total of 68% selling within 60 days. None of that 6 months on the market stats that you can see in other areas.
Here is the chart from June - August 2011.
As you can see, 59% of Lake Pointe homes for sale sold within 30 days with a total of 83% selling within 60 days. Last year, homes weren't staying on the market very long in Lake Pointe and they weren't in 2011 either!

All concerts feature local bands and are on Saturdays from 7-10pm in the middle of the Hill Country Galleria at the amphitheater. Bring blankets, drinks, whatever you want. It's a great time to let the little ones run around and get tired for a good Sunday sleep-in!
