Get Away From It All

"Live Life Out Loud"

That's a great quote but just maybe you are looking for a life a little less ‘loud.' Maybe what you're looking for is a place to get away from all the noise and chaos, get away from cars blocking your driveway, dogs barking and doing their business in your grass, kids running, yelling, and playing in your yard, and the HOA's increasing restrictions and fees. A quiet, more peaceful life doesn't have to be just a dream. Now, more than ever, homes offering a more relaxed way of life can be yours for far less than you might think.

From beachfront cottages to ten-acre estates, a home that allows you the luxury to live a calmer, more serene life and still be minutes from the hustle and bustle of work is just a phone call away.

Imagine waking up to the sounds of waves crashing on the shore right outside your window or going to bed with the sounds of crickets and owls lulling you to sleep, don't wait any longer, this life can be yours. Just take the first step and call Richard at Enter Realty or check out www.SKIPtheBULL.com

Life is loud enough.

The Difference Between Confidence and Arrogance

I know of a realtor that has been called arrogant because he comes across so sure of himself, (I'll use only his first name, Richard, so as not to embarrass him.) I too, thought at times, "You think you know everything, that attitude will get you in trouble one of these days."

The more I saw him work however, the more my attitude changed.

I saw this man work into the wee hours of the night to find answers to questions raised by a client as well as tirelessly search to find the best possible deal for them, not himself.

I observed Richard hold his tongue when he knew a fellow realtor provided the wrong information during a meeting, but not call him on it in front of everyone just to make himself look good; rather, e-mail the new realtor an article with the updated information so the new guy could pass the updates along himself and save face.

I have seen this same man give up several Saturdays to go to client's homes to help them with leaky faucets, lawn issues, and other minor home repairs when they were physically unable to do the work themselves. All the while telling them he enjoys doing the repairs so they wouldn't feel indebted to him.

He has selflessly decreased his commission so that a family struggling to close on their new home, could.

And on the rare occasion that Richard is not able to provide the best for his clients, I have seen him refer them to another realtor that was more knowledgeable in his client's particular interests.

By watching Richard's efforts to be the best realtor he can be, he has unknowingly changed my opinion of confidence vs arrogance.

Confidence is believing that you have strengths, capabilities, and knowledge in a particular subject, acknowledging areas of weakness.

Arrogance is believing that you have strengths, capabilities, and knowledge in every subject, denying areas of weakness.

Confidence is using your strengths to help others.

Arrogance is using your strengths to help yourself.

Confidence attracts.

Arrogance repels.

So my newly revised definition of the two is...

Confidence is not knowledge, raising you above those without it;

but rather,

Confidence is knowledge that allows you to serve those without it.

Thank you Richard.

Random Facts of Knowledge

I tell my kids every morning when I drop them off at school, "Make good choices and ask good questions."

Life is all about learning. It doesn't have to be some major, ground breaking, wealth of knowledge, sometimes it's just some obscure fact like...

A 'jiffy' is an actual measurement of time equivalent to 1/100th of a second.

So next time you say you'll be back in a jiffy, you had better made sure you ate your Wheaties for breakfast that morning!

Life is all about learning. How mundane and boring would our lives be without it.

Remember, "A Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley.....

LOL Friday - Keys To A Happy Marriage

A typical macho man married a typical good-looking lady.

After the wedding, the new husband laid down the following rules:

"I'll be home when I want, if I want and at what time I want and I don't expect any hassle from you."

"I expect a great dinner to be on the table unless I tell you that I won't be home for dinner."

"I'll go hunting, fishing, boozing and card-playing when I want with my old buddies and don't you give me a hard time about it."

Those are my rules. Any comments?"

His new bride said, "No, that's fine with me."

"Just understand that there will be sex here at seven o'clock every night ..........

whether you're here or not."
