"Foodie" Fridays in Austin
It's Friday and time to think about a fun place to eat this weekend in Austin. Depending on what you are in the mood for there is something for everyone!
This week I am suggesting three favorites of mine:![]()
1. EDDIE V'S PRIME SEAFOOD AT THE ARBORETUM ~ http://www.eddiev.com/
If you haven't made reservations with Roger Hernandez (the general manager at the Arboretum location), then call or go to open table. I prefer the Arboretum location because it is quieter, cozier and Roger makes you feel especially welcome (the sign of a good manager). Their food is outstanding and I love the berry cobbler toppped with Amy's vanilla bean ice cream for dessert. You won't be disappointed!![]()
2. ZTEJAS AT THE ARBORETUM ~ http://ztejas.com
Another favorite place of mine is ZTejas...they have several locations but the one in the Arboretum right next to Eddie V's is my favorite! In 1989, the first ZTejas was born in an old Victorian house on Austin's historic 6th Street and is by far the most eclectic location. I can never decide between the Grilled Ruby Trout Salad or the Parmesan Pecan Crusted Chicken Salad.![]()
3. NORTH IN THE DOMAIN (Can't believe they don't have a website in this day and age) ~ http://www.opentable.com/north-austin
You can go on Open Table or call for reservations...you'll need to have one.
North is a great Northern Italian Restaurant located in the Domain. What a great people watching seat you can experience if you choose to eat outside! Their dishes are yummy and the ambiance you can't beat!
As always, local events and information are brought to you as a courtesy by your NW Austin, Coldwell Banker United Realtor, Dorie Dillard. Please watch for future Dorie's picks for Austin dining experiences!
If you are considering the sale or purchase of a NW Austin home I would love the opportunity to earn your business and exceed your expectations.
March in Texas is always an exciting month! If you're a rodeo lover, than you need to be front and center for the "Austin" Rodeo at the Travis County Expo Center.
Austin City Limits is rocking with Earth, Wind & Fire, Gladys Knight, Experience Hendrix and the Doobie Brothers!
Austin has some experienced kite builders so you won't want to miss the "Keep Austin Weird" style that is rampant at the Zilker Park Kite Festival! Even Clifford, The Big Red Dog, is here to enterain you in March.
The Bass Concert Hall, Zachary Scott Theatre, Paramount Theatre and Long Center all have events that could strike your fancy. There truly is something for everyone. No excuses you can't possibly be bored in Austin with this March line-up!

What is Dyslexia and how does it affect learning?
Dyslexia refers to a difficulty in learning to read in a person who has good intelligence, strong motivation and who has received appropriate teaching.
In February, 2012 the Round Rock ISD in Austin, TX offered a dyslexia simulation presentation by the districts dyslexic specialists - Maryann Barry, Lynn Bryan, Penny Chilcutt, Asher Garonzik, Sondra Hoskins and Karen Lentz.
Due to the overwhelming response to the dyslexia presentation they are hosting another one Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 7-8:30pm at the Old Hopewell Building (next to the Round Rock ISD Administration Offices).
The simulation offered is a hands-on expereience that helps participants experience the challenges and frustrations of living with the language-based learning disability of dyslexia. It's presented as 'a day in the life of a dyslectic". There are only 96 available seats so please RSVP to Karen_Lentz@roundrockisd.org.
As always local events and updates are brought to you by your NW Austin Real Estate Consultant Dorie Dillard with Coldwell Banker United.
