In comparing the statistics from 3rd quarter 2008 to 2009 you can see there is a 68.75% increase in the number of home sold! However, the average sold price decreased by 8.67%. The combination of low interest rates, declining prices and the added $8,000 tax credit incentive has brought a surge in home sales in the third quarter. Many buyers found it's a great time to make a value price purchase. In order to take advantage of the $8,000 tax credit, homes must close by December 1, 2009. We have sold 38.5% of the homes in Canyon Creek in the 3rd quarter of 2009. Our listings sell because we keep a pulse on the market, price and stage our properties correctly and have systems in place to give you top notch service.

Call Dorie & Gene at 512-346-1799 for a personal appointment.
I coaxed Gene into making dinner reservations at the Steiner Ranch Steakhouse out off of Hwy 620 in Austin overlooking the hill country and Lake Travis (what is left of it after the drought).
Entering under the Steiner Ranch Arch off the country feeling road you spot the 3 story 14,000 square foot building. You feel like you have set foot on a Texas Ranch! I'm sure you have heard everything is bigger in Texas.
It's perched high on a cliff on land that generations of the Steiner family have produced thousands of cattle and prepared for world championship rodeos.
The waiting room is called the "tack room". The main dining room has an oversized fireplace with over 20' ceilings. There are 3 floors of handsome, rugged architecture and artifacts of the Steiner family memorabilia.
There is a great outdoor patio with a relaxed very casual atmosphere perfect for watching the golden Texas sun set over Lake Travis. They offer a different menu for patio dining. The bars do not lack for business, they have live entertainment and great food. Something for everyone!
Guess what they specialize in? USDA Prime Steaks and have an admirable menu and knowledgable, spirited staff!
Their wine list is extensive and the atmosphere is romantic and inviting. Tom Campbell is the General Manager and has this Steakhouse sizzling! Call 512-381-0800 for a reservation.

Mark October 20, 2009 on your calendar for the annual Canyon Creek Fun Run! Get your running shoes on and meet at the school at 6:30pm for a run around the school area! Tickets are only $5/runner and water is provided.
Many family and friends of students will be on hand for a good cardiac workout. Let's make this a great turnout! Email Heather Forshay: hforshay@earthlink.net with any questions. Go Comets!!

Neighborhoods across Austin will be turning on their porch lights and participating in block parties the night of October 6th as part of National Night Out! Are you planning on holding a block party? This event is happening to emphasize neighborhood safety, crime prevention and drug awareness. You can ask a law enforcement officer to come and talk about tips on how to keep your neighborhood safe.

don't forget ---- leave your porch lights on!!!
The bi-annual festival held on our notorious 6th Street in Austin will be jumping and jiving this week-end (Sept.26th & 27th). The Black and White Years will headline the festival on the main stage. Suzanna Choffel and Vallejo will also be playing sets on one of the five music stages.
An Austin tradition for over 30 years the festival now attracts over 300,000 people!! Of course you know Austin...we are green (not burnt orange as in longhorns)! Therefore we recently introduced a "strategic solidarity-based program to bridge the gap between entertainment and sustainability." In other words we are going to encourage proper disposal, practice energy conservation, and utilize alternative transportation!
Guys and gals this event is free! Make it a point to go and enjoy over 400 artists, including arts and crafts vendors, musical and
performing artists on five stages,
art classes, dance classes, a scholarship competition, international foods,
healthy and green living areas, a carnival, a petting zoo
and much more!
It doesn't get any better than this... live in Austin...the Great Capital of Texas!
