Canyon Creek Elementary Morning Ritual ~ Creating Memories

parents

I always get a kick out of watching the number of parents who take the time to walk with their kids to school! It's like a parade in Canyon Creek every morning school is in session. Many little ones pull along their rolling backpack or have one strapped on their back. Often times the back pack looks bigger than the kids!dogs

Canyon Creek Elementary has a traffic flow pattern for those driving their children. There are crossing guards to help you across the streets and of course the right of way is always to those on foot. Some kids will ride their bikes with mom or dad right behind them with a younger sibling. The neat thing is I see lots of dads partaking in the morning ritual. Kudos to you guys who make it a priority!! Your children will remember this precious time spent with guardthem ~ great way to create wonderful memories!

Nearing Our Office Cancer Contribution Goal for 2009

We've already raised $4,617 towards our $6,200 goal! You might remember my previous posts on our Coldwell Banker United NW past fundraising efforts: participation in the NW Hills Relay For Life and the July Luncheon and Silent Auction. There are some in our office who have chosen to make contributions thru deductions from their closings.

On Wednesday, September 16, 2009 we will host another Pot Luck Luncheon and Silent Auction event at 11:30 at our NW office. Everyone will bring a dish for the group to share and make a donation of $10.00. There will be outside vendors and agents in the office who will provide gift baskets or gift cards for the silent auction. Of course we will have lots of fun!!

Wish us good luck on obtaining our goal on this fund raising event!

Dr. Susan King's New Office Is Right on Schedule

officeoffice

In July I showed you the beginnings of Dr. Susan King's new office at her new location in Cedar Park. I stopped by today to see how the finish out is coming along and they are moving right along!

The drywall is up and the office is really starting to take shape. Next will be countertops, flooring and the finishing touches.

Looks like by mid-October she will be ready to occupy and be open for business.

Her new location will be 1907 Cypress Creek Road in the Sun Chase Plaza II Condominiums. I Couldn't Before ~ Now I Can!

churchOur church, River Bend, is celebrating our thirty year anniversary! What an exhilarating service we experienced Sunday morning! The music was a true festival with Johnny Ray Watson belting out "God is Here", singing for a record 11 minutes...bringing such warmth and feeling you would have to be dead not to be moved!

River Bend is practicing what it preaches by offering 30 different projects for members to participate across Austin during the month of September. They are calling in the "30/30 Celebration". Giving time and energy to help make Austin a better Austin!!

A call for six words to describe what River Bend means to you is requested. One expression already turned in caused me to sit up and take notice "I Couldn't Before ~ Now I Can!" There was a ring to it I felt from something I read in Active Rain.

Lately I've read several posts concerning a specific number of points illlustrating how to do something like Jason Crouch's "7 Steps to Buying a Home in Austin" or a reason for doing something like Sheldon Neal's "7 Reasons to Join A Business Networking Group". Then it hit me...Sheldon's #7 reason was called "Psychic Income". I really liked that terminology because I do get a good feeling when I recommend someone I know to be a good, reliable, tradesman to a client and know they will be happy with their service!

A tremendous sense of fulfillment is derived when taking time out to do something for others to make a difference. To me that is also "Psychic Income". Making the time and following through with the commitment is the key. Before joining River Bend I would have thought of doing something for the community to make a difference but not made it a priority. Being a member I will make that happen!" "I Couldn't Before ~ Now I Can!"
