Long Beach Realtors are the BEST!!!...No Offense

Long Beach Realtors are the BEST!!! No offense to you other Realtors out there. I'm sure you're nice too. As a loan officer, I've actually met Long Beach Realtors though so it comes to mind first. I can also say that Long Beach Realtors make 2 hours of my Saturdays, fun and worthwhile.

Every Saturday I make the rounds and go to Open Houses in Long Beach, CA. Every week I meet a handful of Long Beach Realtors. They all greet me at the door or when we come fact to face, shake my hand; very friendly.

And while some of them politely back away when I tell them I'm a loan officer (and obviously not looking to buy a home) most of them continue the conversation and are very gracious.

Anyway, the point I want to make is that I think it says a lot when someone continues to give you their time and attention even after they find out they won't gain an immediate result from the conversation. It shows they care and are interested in you, not just in their little plans.

I write this not only as an advertisement for Long Beach Realtors (Go Beach!), but mostly to remind myself that Realtors and clients are people too and not just there to help me pay my bills.

As a newbie to the loan officer position, I've found this the most difficult thing to keep in mind. But I try, everyday to be better; to be better and do better.

If you have any other words of advice or encouragement, I'd love to hear them! Comment below! - Deana

You don't look like you've been doing this for very long...said to me about doing home loans in Long Beach, CA

"You don't look like you've been doing this for very long," was said to me about doing home loans in Long Beach, CA.

While, I probably don't look like I've been doing this very long, I've actually been doing it for what seems to me to be a long time. Nine years ago, I joined ACC as a loan officer assistant and moved through various departments including Processing, FHA, Secondary Marketing, and Compliance.

I laugh whenever someone makes a comment about my young appearance or age because I almost expect it and take it as a compliment since I know how long I've been doing this.

During one particular conversation with a realtor, we talked about all of the changes in the loan industry over the past decade, but specifically the past five years. He actually stopped doing home loans because of all the changes.

Stricter guidelines, tedious documentation requirements, regulatory changes with disclosures, licensing and now compensation changes; it's been overwhelming!

So I got to thinking, about my experience and why I've stayed so long doing home loans despite all of the changes.

What I came up with are three main reasons why I haven't stopped being involved in doing home loans.

  • I enjoy it and enjoy working with people
  • It challenges me every day - every day I learn something new, something new about the home loan process or something new about myself
  • ACC hasn't asked me to leave - all they've done is ask me to do more, to be more, to learn and grow, prosper and succeed

The industry has changed; A LOT, but ACC and I have weathered the storm together. Let me help you do the same! No matter who you are, if you have questions about home financing, I'm here to answer them. And if I don't know the answer, I will find someone that does.

ACC is a direct lender so our entire operational staff (processing, underwriting, docs, and funding) is in house 20 feet away from me. Most importantly, I return calls and answer emails in a timely manner.

So to you out there in the cyber world, CALL or EMAIL ME!

I look forward to speaking with you and helping in whatever way I can.

Until then,

Deana
