I am taking back to 7 years ago.......It was the day after thanksgiving and I had to have my christmas lights up......NOW!!! My husband had other plans.....I had bought all these lights and they were going to be up....no matter what....I mean, it is a tradition and it was already the afternoon after Thanksgiving and time was ticking........ I decided to steal a ladder from my husband and put them up myself.... He had an extension ladder that would reach the roof......I told my children (which were 1,2, and 3 years old to ride around on their remote control cars while mom puts them up....) Lana my 1 year old had falling asleep and was sitting quitely in her car seat........I got to the top of the ladder and had my hand on the tin.........the ladder extension FELL.....with me on it........I jumped straight up and started shaking my arms and legs.......I thought that was a long and hard fall and I was so lucky! Within seconds my wrist and arm starting swelling and I could not move them. I got the children in the car (because I could not climb the stairs to get the phone and was about freaking out at this point). I drove 3 miles to my husbands office (with 2 broken arms). He took me to the hospital where I was treated for a broken arm, my wrist on the other arm was broken in 2 places, I had 2 bulging and cracked discs, and a bone in my leg was fractures.......Needless to say, my lights did not get up....The moral of the story............Get your husband to do it next time!!!!!!! Be safe while putting your decorations up.......This is one of the busiest times for the emergency room!!!!!
