Right now, the mindsight that seems to be around us all the time is that of doom and gloom. It makes me aware that it truely is a mindset.
Being in the Real Estate market, it is hard not to be very aware of the troubles in the financial world with banking and real estate. I was an agent back a few years ago when everyone was buying their home when the market and value on homes were in the high range. It seemed everyone was selling or buying. Now, where homes are being priced at an all time low, why aren't people buying like crazy!!. A typical example is a a 4 bedroom colonial with 2 car garage on 2 acres would of been going for $300,000 or up. Now they are going for $150,000 or so. Many people ask when the real estate market value is going to return. My feeling on this is not until the foreclosures are out of the way.
In any case, it's going to be very interesting to see where the real estate market ends up in the year 2009 in the southern parts of Maine and New Hampshire.
So, in the meantime, I guess I'll bake cookies for Christmas and try to help other people with their doom and glooms. Homemade cookies with just the right amount of sugar can fix anyone and anything.
