As heating and cooling costs continue to rise, many homeowners are looking for ways to save extra money while they increase their home's energy efficiency. So, I have found this great way to save money and increase my home's energy efficiency. It is done by installing a heat pump.
Any Edmond , Oklahoma residents who replace their air-conditioning unit or gas furnace with a ground-source heat pump will be eligible for a heat pump rebate. This will also save you money each month on your heating and cooling bill.
To qualify for the rebate, the heat pump must meet some criteria. The electric heat pump must be permanently installed, the heat pump must meet the minimum efficiency rating that is set by the city's rebate program, the pump must provide cooling and heating capabilities in one unit, and the pump must not burn fuel to make heat. There are also more guidelines that can be found here, to ensure you meet all criteria to qualify for your rebate.
Remember that when you replace your current unit with a heat pump it will cost more upfront, but you'll see a great difference on your next energy bill. Overall your energy bill will be cut by 1/3 based on your annual energy consumption.
Installing a heat pump is one more way to go green. I've been trying to do my part. I hope this helps you get on the road to going green.
