March 17, 2008 - ERA Sunrise Realty would like to announce that Rebecca Patterson has joined Team in Training to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. "We are very proud of Rebecca," said David Johnson. "She is working very hard and we will support her any way we can." Patterson has committed to raise $2,700.00 to help fight cancer and cycle a 100 mile bike ride (a century). She has had to learn how to ride a bicycle all over again and has taken several tumbles in the process! She trains every weekend and has really put a lot of energy into reaching her goals. "When I am out there, painfully riding a bicycle up hill, for what seems like forever, I think of people who suffer painfully that don't have a choice." said Patterson "And those people are my motivation."

Rebecca has an honored hero that she rides for. Her name is Catherine and has been re-diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She has a twelve-month-old baby that she has had to spend a lot of time away from as a result of chemo-therapy. Rebecca has currently raised $470.00 for this cause but still needs help. Everyone can make a difference and fight for a cure. This disease touches all of our lives in a painful way. If you know someone who has battled cancer, you can send their name to Rebecca and she will write it on her jersey on race day to honor them.
