Georgia Senator Johnny Isakson is still worried about the current Real Estate crisis. He doesn't think that the stimulus package is enough and wants to raise the $8000 tax break to $15000. He went on to say that, "the sale of thousands of empty, undeveloped lots in subdivisions around Atlanta and throughout the nation is critical to stabilize the housing market."

The Republican Senator from Georgia is sponsoring a bill to benefit ALL HOME BUYERS. Isakson's bill would eliminate the current income limit of $75,000 for an individual and 150,000 for a couple. His bill would increase income limits to $150,000 and $300,000 respectively. Senator Isakson's amendment would extend the tax break until June 30th 2010. Saxby Chamblis, Republican Senator also from Georgia is a co sponsor of the amendment.

Senator Isakson stated, "he is also worried about housing near Military Installations". He mentioned, the expected growth of Columbus Ga and Fort Benning and also the Fort Knox area. Thousands of soldiers will be moving from one location to another and the continued stimulus will make home sales easier for them.

Not everyone agrees with the Georgia Senators, but they have my support. Their efforts to protect our soldiers is commendable. I think it is the smart thing to do!

Al Capone's former hideout / former tourist attraction sold on the court house steps in Hayward Wisconsin. Chippewa Valley Bank was the only bidder, it was also the bank that foreclosed. Capone's retreat in Northern Wisconsin featured 18 inch thick stone walls and guard towers. Nine separate buildings on the property also included a bunk house and a jail. The property sold for 2.6 million dollars.

Sawyer County Wisconsin has much more to offer than Capone's Hideout. The northwoods are beautiful and relaxing. Hayward Lakes is an equally striking destination with plenty of antique stores, and artisans. Canoeing, horse back riding through the forests and lumberjack exhibitions are high on the list of things to do. You can also find the National Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame and Museum here. If these attractions aren't enough to fill your days, this is golf country too. There are plenty of challenges on a number of golf courses in the area. I'm from Columbus Ga. but Fishing, Golf, fresh air in Hayward and Sawyer County Wisconsin sounds really inviting.

I am attempting an Agent's Open House / Yard Sale next week! Everything is for sale, including furniture, appliances, pictures, books decorations, dishes, bedding, clothing and shoes and shoes and more shoes.

The first of the yard sales is exclusive to Real Estate Agents, while they are browsing sale items, I will poll for home value opinions. I expect a large turn out and really expect to sell a lot of items.

There is good news in Columbus Ga about some of our neighbors. The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, made the local newspaper and it was all good news.

Members of Elks Lodge No.111 received a request from a family that needed help with a wheel chair ramp. A child in the family had just been released from the hospital after undergoing surgery which left the child unable to walk. Not only did lodge members build the ramp for the family. They found another fantastic neighbor who provided free building materials.

Tripp Mitchell, from Valley Fir and Redwood, located on Norris Rd. provided the Elks with wood, nails, cement and all the construction material needed to build the ramp. Tripp Mitchell helped out the Elks! The Elks built the wheel chair ramp and helped a family in need. Neighbors helping neighbors, helping neighbors!

My hat is off to all of the generous people involved in this wonderful, selfless act of kindness.

FDI, Foreign Direct Investments in the state of Georgia dropped to 226.1 Million Dollars in the first half of 2009. This is a huge downturn over the same period of 2008 when the FDI, Foreign Direct Investments, was a whopping 1.143 BILLION Dollars. According to the statistics provided by the Georgian Statistics Department, we still have friends in the Middle East. The United Arab Emirates made the biggest investment in the 2nd quarter totalling 73.6 million Dollars.
The big industrial losers in Foreign Direct Investments were transportation and communication sectors, followed by energy and agriculture. There was good news in Real Estate Markets which received the largest sum in Foreign Direct Investments, about 81 Million Dollars. The constructin sector also did well and attracted a bit more than 3.5 Million Dollars, but this amount was 25% less than investments in the previous year.
