Today-April 2,2008 marks the first annual World Autism Awareness Day. I don't know much about Autism or know anyone who is affected by it. So I decided that the least that I can do is educate myself on this topic.

Autism is a complex brain disorder that affects a person's ability to communicate and develop social relationship. It is often accompanied by extreme behavorial challenges. The diagnosis of autism has increased tenfold in the last decade and the centers for Disease Control and Prevention has called autism a national public health crisis whose cause and cure still remains to be unknown.

• Autism affects as many as 1 in 150 children and 1 in 94 boys
• Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the world
• More children will be diagnosed with autism this year than with diabetes, cancer, & AIDS combined
• Boys are four times more likely than girls to have autism
• There is no medical detection or cure for autism, but early diagnosis and intervention improve outcomes
• Autism does not discriminate by geography, class, or ethnicity

The first ever World Autism Awareness Day gives opportunity to people in every country of the world to raise awareness about autism and Asperger's Syndrome and raise funds for autism organisations.

Spring is almost here ( I feel like jumping for joy-But I won't yet ) Which means that we are slowly saying good bye to cold weather while we transition slowly to start getting warm weather. But this also means that the National Cherry Blossom Festival is coming up. Yes! The Cherry Blossom Festival from March 29th-April 13th 2008. Blooming of the cherry trees around the Jefferson Memorial attracts many tourists as well as city residents and vistors to Washington DC.

The famous trees a gift from Japan in 1912 signal the coming of spring with an explosion of life and color surrounding the Jefferson Memorial on the Tidal Basin in a sea of pink and white. The National Cherry Blossom is an annual two week,city-wide event featuring more than 200 international cultural performances and over 90 other special events. The National Cherry Blossom Festival kicks off the busy tourist season in Washington,DC and includes many special events near the monuments and museums on the National Mall. So if you are planning on coming to Washington,DC. Home equity - falls below 50%

Just what we needed. More bad news when most homeowners are struggling to keep up paying on their mortgages. Now this. For the first time on record since 1945,homeowners percentage of equity in their homes has fallen below 50%. After saying just this,I don't even know if I should even say more. But maybe reading this,some homeowners might want to put their homes on the market hoping to at least get something out of the selling their home before it is too late. And with spring approaching soon and more home buyers looking to buy a home,this would be a great time for home owners to put their house on the market who have been hesitant to sell but was not sure whether they should or not. Homeowners will make up on the buying side what they are not going to get on the selling side.

In the second quarter of 2008,homeowners percentage of equity slipped to lower than 49.6%. It declined even further to 47.9% - the third straight quarter it was under 50%. This marks the first time that debt have exceeded equity since the Fed starting tracking data in 1945. This of course is terrible news for the hardworking american citizens who have worked so hard to own a piece of the American Dream.

The total value of equity also fell for the third straight quarter to $9.65 trillion from a downwardly revised $9.93 trillion in the third quarter. Economists expect this figure to drop even further as declining home prices eat into the value of most Americans best investment. What's disturbing about all of this?Moody's Economy.com which is a trusted independent provider of economic analysis,data, and forecasting and credit risk services estimates that 8.8 million homeowners, or about 10.3% of homes,will have zero or negative equity by the end of the month. While around 13.8 million households or 15.9% will be "upside down"if prices fall 20% from the peak. This is not good news at all. We just have to pray that it gets better soon. We'll just have to wait and see how this all plays out.

With foreclosure rate at a all time high,the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is promoting rules that would force lenders to make closing costs easier to understand and reveal payments to mortgage brokers.

The proposal is less strict than the one that failed in 2002, but still would require lenders to provide an accurate good faith estimate that doesn't change by more than 10 percent. The most controversial portion of the proposal would require any lender payments to mortgage brokers to be noted on the good faith estimate. While some people feel that this is a good thing,some people opposes the rule change including Marc Savitt,president-elect of the National Association of Mortgage Brokers who says that "HUD's goal was to simplify the mortgage process, and what they are doing is anything but simplifying the process. I just finished reading a post by Mrs.Tamara Inzunza Realtor -Alexandria,VA about your business plan which prompted me to review mine and see what I need to do to make it better. ( I track my business plan/goals every week ). Anyway,I was looking in my fast trac when I ran across this poem. It is by Edgar Guest. I really liked it. Sometimes things are not going our way and we need something to lift our spirits and motivate us. So I thought that I share this poem with you. I hope you all enjoy reading this.

EQUIPMENT

Figure it out for yourself,my lad
