Coldwell Banker Sky Ridge Realty in conjunction with the Blue Jay Merchants will host a Halloween Trick or Treat event at their office on Hwy 189 in Blue Jay on Saturday from 2 to 5:30.

Kids and Adults are welcome to come in costume, but not necessary to get a treat. The staff and Realtors will be there handing out treats and also will judge the costume contest at 3:00pm. We have been doing this for several years and it is fun for everyone. It's really great to see all the costumes, some are so creative. I particularly like the "little ones" dressed up as Spider Man, Princesses, scary things, ballerinas, cowboys, firefighters, etc.

The weather should be fall-like. A little on the cool side. That gets us in the spirit of things.

After a few days of much needed rain, wind and fog we woke up to a beautiful Lake Arrowhead Day. Due to the weather earlier in the week our home tour was a little smaller than usual, but we still had a good selection of homes to view. Talk about diversity, we saw a cute log home in Twin Peaks listed for $289,000., and 2 lake fronts, one in Raibow Point priced at $2,999,000. and a home on Old North Shore, formerly owned by the O'Malleys listed for $2,695,000.We also saw a rare single level home also located in the North Shore area. But I think the pick of the day is a home located in Cedar Ridge. It is listed at $798,000, that makes that home the lowest priced home in Cedar Ridge at this time. OK, I thought we weren't supposed to get any snow until Saturday and Sunday. It seems that the weather man can't predict the weather any better than the politicians can predict the economy. Right now there is a light covering of snow on the ground, that is sure to increase by morning. By then the plows will have done their work and all the streets will be plowed, there will be no berms in your driveway, and your walls and yard ornaments have not been knocked over. Oh, sorry, I dozed off for a minute and had a dream. Back to reality. Actually, I wouldn't want to be out there all night in the cold, driving up and down the streets, trying to do my job and avoiding parked cars and angry home owners. We need these guys, just think how it would be if we didn't have that service. Lets hope that snow plowing isn't one of jobs that Arnold is cutting.

Sleep tight all. Keep the shovels handy, I think we're going to need them.

I'm off to a good start for 2009, with a closed escrow on Jan 13th. It was a little one, but it got me off to a good start mentally and emotionally. This is a businees of extreme highs and lows. Right now I'm on a high. Thinking I have a lot of potential that I am working on, new listings, contacting FSBO's, buyers, referrals, etc. The possibilities are endless. To all you agents out there.
