BOOM BOOM BOOMERS AND REAL ESTATE
Were you born between 1946 and 1964? Are you still young and hip? Of course you are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now the scary party is that next month - January 2011 - some of us boomers will turn 65!!! A fact that one of my buyers pointed out to me today. He and his wife are looking to DOWNSIZE, a friendly and comfortable COMMUNITY (not a big city and not a 2 horse town), and a COMFORTABLE CLIMATE (not too hot, not too cold).
I think this is important for us realtors because what the boomers are really searching for in real estate is "quality over quantity". Most have had the big houses and big maintenance bills; one or two rentals; maybe even delved into a condo or two - been there, done that, got the t-shirt and hopefully made more money than we've lost along the way.
The good thing, in my opinion, about real estate and baby boomers is that we're wise. We know what we don't want, so it's really a lot easier to sell to a boomer. Another wonderful and rewarding benefit of dealing with boomers is that we won't waste a lot of the realtor's time. Having had previous real estate experiences, we can cut to the chase!
In 2009, the National Association of Realtors performed a survey and found
"that the perfect retirement community is a smaller town or community that offers: •
• a secure community environment
• easy accessability to quality health care
• a good quality of living with a comparable lifestyle
• easy accessability of shopping and travel facilities
• stable retirement real estate investment values
• a moderate living climate without extreme weather
• natural beauty of environment"
So, all you boomers out there - visit Navarre, Florida!!! We've got what you're looking for! Oh, and yeah, by the way, ROCK ON BOOM BOOM BOOMERS!!!!!!!!!

Buy from Me - Get A Tree! Northwest Florida (Florida Panhandle)

Are we really loosing our ozone layer? Are we just going through a normal meteorological cycle? I don't know? I don't even think the experts know. What I do know is that this is a moral issue and shouldn't be a political one. So this year, I'm going green. I'm going to start in my own backyard with my family. We're going to start by replacing our light bulbs. I'm going to wrap my hot water heater with a heater blanket. I'm going to plant a garden. I'm going to plant at least 3 new trees in my yard. And I'm going to buy a tree for everyone who buys real estate from me!!!! Well, at least Homes for Sale in Northwest Florida, Panhandle Yeah, that's it. Buy from me, get a tree!!!! We can't control the pollution in China, but we can start small. I'm going to be the new crusader - the inconvenient realtor with a message - let's protect our planet, but most of all let's protect our children's world and their childrens' world.
I've thought about nuclear energy, electric cars, wind and solar energy, but honestly I'm not able to converse on those levels. Small bites of the elephant. I've also decided that I'm going to purchase indigenous trees, so I won't be putting an exotic canary date palm where it won't grow. I will be researching the best native plants to my area in Northwest Florida, especially plants for homes in Navarre, Florida. We have very sandy soils here, so the plants will have to be wind and salt tolerant. I'll share my own backyard experiences as I move through the year. I live on the water on the inter coastal canal in Navarre, Florida. So join me in my journey of Buying and Selling Real Estate in Northwest Florida, Panhandle and don't forget "Buy from Me - Get a Tree!"
