I had the opportunity to play the Olmos Basin Municipal golf course the other day and here's my review.
I was very impressed with the greens on this public golf course and will rank them up there with some of the private courses I've played in the past. Even in the winter months, they rolled fairly quick and true.

Overall a good length and the holes had very good character. I will add, that the course tends to become extremely crowded so patience is a virtue! I think a good time to play this course would be during the week.
Very nice neighborhood surround this course and it seems like they have been in place for a while. Affordable housing, which is a plus! The median home prices as of Feb 2009 are as follows:

Pricing was reasonable in the off season which makes this a plus. If you are in the area and looking for a good public course to play, then I suggest Olmos Basin; plus hole number 10 will boost you ego, as it's drivable leaving a manageable eagle put! (I got a birdie, lipped out the eagle!)
Had the opportunity to play a round of golf with some associates a few weeks back at Olympia Hills golf course in Universal city, Texas. Overall the course, even in the winter months, is in great condition! The greens were smooth and ran true. There are several blind shots that you need to be aware of off the tee (and I paid the price!!)
The price was reasonable and the pace of play was great! I would venture to say this course is a different layout all together when the trees are fully leafed. The course is also surrounded by some wonderful houses and is quite an established community.

The staff were very friendly and the as well as the Marshall, who as chatty and pretty funny! Overall, it's a great course that you will look to play time and time again.... Just bring plenty of golf balls!
We have been blessed today to view a pleasant part of history! Yes we experience all types of history day in and day out, however, this is a day that transcends the true meaning of democracy! I'll start with the Maverick golf course in Floresville Texas!
I played here on 19 Jan 2009. Great course tucked away just inside the city limits of Floresville Texas! Country living on the outskirts of San Antonio. Houses abundant! The course is surrounded by Colonial still houses with the golf course as your back yard!
Now be prepared, the wind is a factor on this course as it's very open! I loved the huge greens, they were smooth and very fast thanks to being wind swept! I will look forward to playing this again in the San Antonio summer time.
The staff are friendly and the price is good. At the time they were promoting a special for under $40 you can get a round of golf, cart and a lunch. Be prepared to lose a few balls (I did!) as the course has some tricky bends and curves that bring a "links style feel."
Overall I would rate this course a 7+ out of 10 and will definitely play it again.

I contacted Mr. Frank Bailey a while back as I am going to relocate from Puerto Rico to the Texas area by this coming summer. I am writing to tell you about the amazing service provided by Mr. Frank Bailey.
In May of this year I accepted a new position in San Antonio. This may not seem like a big deal or move to most people; however, at the time I was living in Korea! I found Mr. Bailey through the TRULIA website. I browsed his site and found it answered most of my questions. Additionally, his site was user friendly for DOD employees. That told me he understood what I would encounter as I made a move from overseas.
I contacted him as well as approximately four other agents who had listings on TRULIA. Frank answered my inquiry in a matter of hours. (this is saying a lot with a 13 hour time difference) One or two of other agents answered inquiries but it took days, so I figured I would not be important to them so I dropped all communication. On the other hand, Frank answered all my questions, took all my specifications about what I was looking for and started finding listings that I could review. The amazing part........it did not matter what time of day I e-mailed from Korea, Frank seem to answer! At one point I had to ask him if he ever slept.
I started out thinking I would be renting a home, only natural I had never owned a home. That whole paradigm shifted, Frank arranged for me to contact a loan officer and I was pre-approved for my first home loan. I had a specific builder in mind and type of house. Frank listened patiently and put all the requests together. As the time arrived for me to move to San Antonio Frank stayed in touch and reminded me of the important things to look for when purchasing a home.
I arrived in San Antonio on 27 June. Frank and I were looking at homes the next morning. Based on our conversations he had lined up showing with four builders, including the one I had mentioned. On that one day we went to four builders locations and looked at 10 homes and I found the one I really liked! In fact, it was a home by another builder! He helped through all phases of the purchase right through closing! In fact even after I closed and could not get off work to go to the city office to transfer the name of house he went in my stead to the City of Cibolo administrative offices and took care of the paper work for me!
My profession incorporates measuring and critiquing customer service, Frank exemplifies superior "world class" service! His attention to detail, finely honed ability to listen to the customer and match their needs to available homes epitomizes the skills of a true professional.
