Walk, don't run, but keep up the pace!

Times have changed in the real estate environment and for that matter the world. Discouragement is at a all time low; for sellers, agents and society in general We as people strive to make our best actions with our backs up against the wall! People, in general have a fear of flight, or move in fight, nature. So sit back, look at who you are and what you want. Do you, as a home-buyer, want to follow the news', rumors and back street gossip? Do you, as Realtors, want to follow the news and naysayers broadcasting how our economy is dead with no hopes of recovering? Or do you want to make a difference? Our time is at a historical moment, with a leader in charge looking to acknowledge our past mistakes and learn from it and look to move to the future for the better of us, the United States! Let's join him in his enthusiasms, not dwelling on where we are, but where we can be.

I'm ready to take the steps to make America the forefront of home ownership and the "market leader and teacher of the future" are you?

Being a home owner is still the best decision you can make; pay your bills, fix your credit, buy and sell. That's what sets us apart from the rest of world, we learn from our mistakes and make the world a better place.

Just me 2 cents!

Golf course review: Olmos Basin Golf Course, San Antonio TX., 78216

I had the opportunity to play the Olmos Basin Municipal golf course the other day and here's my review.

http://www.golfersweb.com/golfsan/olmos.htm

I was very impressed with the greens on this public golf course and will rank them up there with some of the private courses I've played in the past. Even in the winter months, they rolled fairly quick and true.

HOLE 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 out
Blue 410 475 237 382 532 195 376 400 526 3531

Ladies' Handicap 14 18 16 4 2 12 6 10 8

Overall a good length and the holes had very good character. I will add, that the course tends to become extremely crowded so patience is a virtue! I think a good time to play this course would be during the week.

Very nice neighborhood surround this course and it seems like they have been in place for a while. Affordable housing, which is a plus! The median home prices as of Feb 2009 are as follows:

26 Active - Residential Single Statistics
High Low Average Median
List Price $179,900 $60,900 $122,427 $129,375
Square Feet 2110 961 1450 1444
Price/Square Feet $119.53 $43.62 $84.70 $85.50

Pricing was reasonable in the off season which makes this a plus. If you are in the area and looking for a good public course to play, then I suggest Olmos Basin; plus hole number 10 will boost you ego, as it's drivable leaving a manageable eagle put! (I got a birdie, lipped out the eagle!)

Golf course review: Olympia Hills, Universal City, Tx - from your SA Realtor!

Had the opportunity to play a round of golf with some associates a few weeks back at Olympia Hills golf course in Universal city, Texas. Overall the course, even in the winter months, is in great condition! The greens were smooth and ran true. There are several blind shots that you need to be aware of off the tee (and I paid the price!!)

The price was reasonable and the pace of play was great! I would venture to say this course is a different layout all together when the trees are fully leafed. The course is also surrounded by some wonderful houses and is quite an established community.

The statistics of the price of the homes vary from

21 Active - Residential Single Statistics

High Low Average Median
List Price $344,000 $129,900 $211,138 $204,900

I am truly proud to be an American

We have been blessed today to view a pleasant part of history! Yes we experience all types of history day in and day out, however, this is a day that transcends the true meaning of democracy! I have served my country proudly for over 20 years and today, I can add a pinnicle of truly proud to be an American. My anscesters suffered and persevered so that I, and my family, can see a unification that was not possible during their time. I had tears of joy and pride watching the inauguration and hope and pray that we, as a country, will support our 44th president of the United States.

I dedicated my life to you and this country on 20 Novemeber 1987 and culmilated my service on 1 February 2008 and I am proud to be your retired veteran, your full time Realtor.

Golf course review, from of your San Antonio Realtor!

Along with my passion for real estate, I have a passion for golf. I fell in love with the game in 1996 and have been hooked since! I've had the opportunity and pleasure to play golf courses all around Europe during my time in the military. I've played in Scotland, England, Italy, Ireland and Germany. There may be a few more countries that escape my memory. I've decided that since i still have the passion and love real estate, local events, and golf, why not combine them for you. I will create blogs for every course I will and have played in the San Antonio area, and.... provide you with my personal opinion of the course and the area. You never know, it may be an area that strikes your interest to live and play. I'll be here for both options! Look forward to the updates!

I'll start with the Maverick golf course in Floresville Texas!

I played here on 19 Jan 2009. Great course tucked away just inside the city limits of Floresville Texas! Country living on the outskirts of San Antonio. Houses abundant! The course is surrounded by Colonial still houses with the golf course as your back yard!

Now be prepared, the wind is a factor on this course as it's very open! I loved the huge greens, they were smooth and very fast thanks to being wind swept! I will look forward to playing this again in the San Antonio summer time.

The staff are friendly and the price is good. At the time they were promoting a special for under $40 you can get a round of golf, cart and a lunch. Be prepared to lose a few balls (I did!) as the course has some tricky bends and curves that bring a "links style feel."

Overall I would rate this course a 7+ out of 10 and will definitely play it again.
