Were stagers, we hammer, screw and display lots of different forms of art on the walls of our clients. We do make it look picture perfect!
A long time ago I wrote about this but I recently had an experience I want to share with everyone. Every time I do a contract for a staging I make sure I word that the Property will be staged until it sells or client gives a15 day notice. Well, this client informed me that he was going to keep half of the monthly rental until we destaged their property they would give other half. I got really upset and called the client and expressed that what he was holding back the monthly rental fee. Make a long story short we got into it and we screamed back and forth.

Destaging this 3 million dollar home took 6 people and 2 days ! I made sure that while the entire crew was loading the truck i was taking all nails out and covered the holes !!!! I honestly did not think I was going to see the rest of the money but to my surprise the client came when we were almost done. He was very nice and pleasant and even mentioned as he handed me the check for the remainder balance that we did a great job. He then asked me "If you owned this estate would you have held part of the payment just in case there was any damage to the house?. You did great and even covered all the holes on the walls!"
In conclusion... I realized maybe I would have done the same. So never argue with your client theres an old saying that says "customer is always right"

Some sellers are wondering why their house dont sell even if it has been staged for 22 months!!!!!!!!
Staging alone will NOT SELL A HOME ,it is a combination of patience, showing it ,open houses It has to be priced right. Have your realtor do the homework and get comparable homes in your area and what they are selling for. Be Realistic! If you get greety YOU WILL NOT SELL.
Home staging has become the way the entire nation is selling homes successfully. If you are the type that thinks that home staging is a waste of time and you are a realtor, then Im sorry your not doing your job rigth. As you know, what we stagers do is package beautifully a home so that it sells at the highest price possible and staging should be reccomended from the beggining to the seller. Is the best weapon agents have to help them get their commission quick! so thats why a stgaging company that you trust should be part of their marketing strategy.

Im writing this refering to the South Florida Home Stagers situation. When I first started Staging a bit shy of 3 years ago, clients would call ask for quote and then staged with us. I have noticed that has changed drastically during the past year in my market. Now clients are getting 3-4 quotes for stagings , they take the lowest one and have another stager see it and they ask to improve it to give them the job. This has caused the staging fees to go down considerably!!! .
You know how we all google for stagers in your area to see were we come up? .... Well, I recently did that and to my surprise there are now 5 stagers I never saw before, all in my area of work. Some are accredited, others just call themselves stagers. Makes me wonder will staging become my main source of income??? . Honestly, I can tell you that I could not just depend on Stagings in my area. With the economy the way it is people are not willing to spend more than 700 dollars for the monthly rentals, and I can understand that.
I left my 25 year Executive Chef carrer almost 3 years ago to go into this Home Staging adventure, but I realized I am a chef with good taste and a great decorator. As I am returning to what I know best which is cheffing! I can only say this has been a great ride, and don't think I will not be staging in my spear time cause you'd be wrong.
