Also, beginning April 2010, federal law will require contractors that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities and schools, built before 1978

CL has been a great marketing tool for skilled trade professionals such as carpenters and painters. Yet there are some downfalls lately...especially in Boston.

How can a PROFESSIONAL PAINTER claim to paint a room in Boston using AURA paints for $200 and make any money - you figure $54.99 retail for AURA paint + tax / an average sized room in Boston is about 13'x16' so figure 2 gals for the walls - okay the trim will run you another $54.99 - then low voc ceiling paint... another $25.00...labor to do the room is about 1 day to 1.5 days depending upon trim/ windows/doors etc. If you are a PROFESSIONAL - you have some overhead costs (licensing fees - insurance - equipment) and travelling expenses - Doesn't the old adage "IF SOMETHING SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT PROBABLY IS..." resonate here...

I had received 5 quotes from other contractors in the area before I decided to go with Fred. I had put my house on the market last year and nothing happened for 5 months! Before I put it up again this year I listened to my realtor who had said just a few minor changes would help me sell it...one of them being painting...I was taken with the professional attitude that Fred and his staff put into every aspect of the job from the very beginning! I then purchased 2 condos in Florida in Ft Myers area and they brought these units from cruddy to FABULOUS in days! I was able to flip these for a substantial profit and that it hard to come by these days!

I live in Brookline MA. Fred has painted several rooms for me in my last condo and now here in my latest...just a great job! VERY REASONABLE! Very nice, clean, quiet guy who is ther to work and not chit-chat with you! Which I like (i had hired a painter b4 from CL who was a touch WIERDO...who wanted to talk all day - it took the other guy 4 days to paint 1 room - no wonder he charged hrly rate) FRED DOES NOT charge an hourly rate - he chgs per room and he painted 3 rooms in 1.5 days (HELLO!!!) and believe me when you compare to other painters out there who charge hrly and then want you to pick up the paint FRED IS A BARGAIN. Really Awesome PAINTER! I cannot believe it took me FOREVER to find this painting company!
But when I gogled and bing-d I found a company that had everything I was looking for - NON-SMOKING and SOBER as well as offering the BEST paints! I love BMoore AURA and also Fred introduced me to NATURA since I was prego when I had them paint and was afraid of even low VOC (which is what AURA is) - NATURA is zero voc. Although it ended up costing more than his advertised AURA price it was still $300 lower than the next guy who would not even consider using B MOORE AURA because "it cuts into my profits". Jannino Painting is the BEST painter I have found - and VERY REASONABLE (hate to say CHEAP - because his work is PROFESSIONAL)...More reviews on the web:
