The St. Petersburg neighborhood of Woodlawn consists of approximately 136 single family homes built primarily from 1920 to 1949. The architectural styles include Colonial, Dutch Colonial, Tudor, Cape Cod and Ranch. Approximately 50 of the homes are two story. There are many trees in the neighborhood and the homes in this small subdivision are mostly well maintained.
The square footage of the homes range from 964 square feet to 3270 square feet with the predominant size being in the 1500 to 2000 square foot range. A majority of the homes are located on lots that are less than ¼ of an acre.
The Woodlawn neighborhood is north of 22nd avenue north, south of 26th avenue north, east of 16th street and west of 12th street.
There are currently four homes for sale in the Woodlawn neighborhood ranging in price from $325,000 to $420,000. Two are pictured below.
The local MLS reported three sales in the past six months ranging in sales price from $149,900 to $213,000. It should be noted that these sales were of homes that are some of the smaller homes in the neighborhood.
The Woodlawn subdivision was originally platted in 1924 and is part of the Greater Woodlawn Neighborhood Association, Inc. which meets on the 4th Tuesday of the month at Woodlawn Presbyterian Church - 2612 12th St N.
Westwood Villas is a 36 unit condominium community located on 1st Avenue South between 60th and 61st Avenues. The property consists of three concrete block, garden style, two story residential buildings built in 1968 with 12 units each. There are 20 two bedroom, two bath units that are 910 square feet and 16 one bedroom, one bath units that are 735 square feet.
There is an air conditioned community room and an in-ground pool. The maintenance fee for the one bedroom units is $185 per month and the maintenance fee for the two bedroom units is $232 per month. The community association does not allow pets but does allow units to be leased.
Westwood Villas is located between Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico and is a short drive to the beautiful beaches of Treasure Island, St. Pete Beach and Madeira Beach. It also is just minutes from downtown St. Petersburg.
There is currently (as of 01/08/2008) one unit listed on the local multiple listing service for sale which is a one bedroom, one bath unit listed for $98,000. In 2007 there was one unit reported as sold on the local multiple listing service which was a two bedroom, two bath unit that sold for $115,000.

There are two separate Tyrone Garden condominium communities located in St. Petersburg. They are located between 57th and 58th streets north and 12th and 14th avenues. They are geographically separated by 13th avenue. The one on the north side of 13th avenue is legally described as Tyrone Garden Apts Condo and the one south of 13thavenue north is legally described as Tyrone Garden Apts Unit 2 Condo. Each of these properties consists of four buildings built in 1969.
Both of these properties are condominiums that have land leases and require owner occupancy (units can not be rented).
Some of the differences between the two properties are as follow: Tyrone Garden Apts Condo consists of 58 units, has no age restrictions and allows small pets. Tyrone Garden Apts Unit 2 consists of 57 units, is a 55 and over community and does not allow pets.
Including both these Tyrone Garden communities there is currently (as of 01/05/2008) 9 units listed on the local multiple listing service for sale ranging in price from $69,000 to $110,000. In 2007 there were 5 units reported as sold on the local multiple listing service ranging in price from $59,900 to $110,000.
