Florida's Sea Birds And Mangroves

There is nothing as beautiful as the assortment of sea birds we have here in the state. Combine that with our mangroves that have their roots in the salt water and you have a true tropical paradise.

This is just a typical day in Florida with a beautiful egret sitting in a mangrove watching the water for fish.

They watch, wait and swoop down for dinner!!! And if you are here to catch bait fish, they fly over and attempt to steal fish from you.

Just another day in paradise!!! This is all salt water that you are viewing here!!!

Great Blue Heron Steals Mullet

While out fishing last weekend I got a photo of this Great Blue Heron after it decided to steal a mullet from the bucket we had them in.

Ron always uses a cast net to get our bait fish and he also managed to get about a dozen mullet in his net - they are great smoked or blackened!!!

I was over getting something from the SUV so he simply put them in an open bucket since we did not think the Heron would take something this large ! While he did steal the fish, I ran after him and he dropped it - so I got it back again!!!!

The mullet dinner was GREAT!!!!!

Palm Harbor Is A Great Place To Live

Palm Harbor is indeed a great place to live with so many single family homes and condos on the market at unbelievable prices right now. The good news is that not everything is a short sale!!!

This photo of the pool, taken from the balcony in the Fountains at Countryside Condo Community is just another example of the great places to live here in North Pinellas County!!

With our A-rated schools, this is a wonderful area in Florida! Convenient to the Gulf Beaches and minutes from Tampa, this is a very popular place to live!!!!

If you are considering relocating, give me a call so I can assist you in your search for that perfect home here in the Clearwater, Palm Harbor area!!!

Even A Girl Can Catch Fish In The Sunshine State!

Yup, even a girl can catch fish down here in the Sunshine State!!! Ron and I were out fishing again last weekend and it was the first time since I was a kid that I caught something we could actually keep and eat!!!

When I was a kid I was always out fishing with my father - but I had not held a fishing rod for about 45 years when I met Ron, so he had to teach me all over again how to fish!

So you can imagine how proud I was of the two trout that I caught last weekend and the fact that Ron blackened them for dinner Monday night!!!

The best part is that I actually enjoy going fishing with him!!!! The joys of living in sunny Florida!!!! Fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, what could be better???

By the way, we were wade fishing off the coast near the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. The water was GREAT!!!!

St Petersburg's Changing Face - Shore Acres

St Petersburg is indeed changing. Years ago, when I was growing up, it was considered a real retirement town. The older ladies would gather on the benches outside of Maas Brother's Department Store waiting for the bus. As a teen I avoided the city - there was nothing to do, the homes were older - it just was NOT a happening place.

Well, that has sure changed! I have been showing homes in the Shore Acres of St Petersburg and am just blown away by all of the new construction that has taken place down there during the last few years. St Petersburg has changed so much from the place I avoided during the 60's. There is so much to do down there now and the residential areas are changing to look like the rest of Pinellas County.

Shore Acres used to be full of small homes, about 1100 sq ft built during the 1950's, but not anymore. Those homes are being replaced by larger homes that offer all of the luxeries we have grown to expect in a home.
