Fred Howard Park's Fantastic Trees

While out in Fred Howard Park the other day I did what I like to do second only to showing homes - photograph trees! There are some beautiful trees in our Pinellas County Parks and Fred Howard Park is no exception.

I love these trees - they have taken such unusual shapes while growing - as if they are swaying in the Florida breeze! These magnificent trees just had to be shared with everyone here in ActiveRain!

If you are trying to find Fred Howard Park, I suggest you Google it since it is tucked away from all main streets - locals know where it is but few tourists manage to get there since you have to drive through the bayous of Tarpon Springs and through various residential areas.

It is well worth the trip! Once you find this fantastic park you will return again and again!

Remember, if you are considering purchasing or selling in the Tarpon Springs, Dunedin, Palm Harbor area give me a call! With years of experience in the local market, I am here for all of your real estate needs!

Tarpon Springs Beach Closed Until 2009

We knew the beach would be closed since they are doing work out there, but I did not realize how LONG it would be closed!

They are keeping it closed for over a full YEAR while they do repairs and improvements! The rest of the park leading out to the beach is still open, but the causeway and beach itself are totally blocked off!

So if you want to go to the beach, you will have to drive a little south and go to Dunedin's Honeymoon Island State Park, which is about a 10-15 minute drive south on Alt 19.

The rest of Howard Park is still open, if you want to just get out to the park area for a picnic - which is what most locals do at this time of year anyway!

The nice thing about Howard Park is that you have to drive through Tarpon Springs' residential areas and around the bayou to get to it - so most tourists don't find it and it is never that crowded! It is one of my favorite parks in North Pinellas County!!!!

The Crab Trap in Manatee County

If you are looking for a great place for seafood in a really relaxed atmosphere, may I suggest the Crab Trap, just north of Palmetto on US 19, just south of the Skyway Bridge which connects Manatee County to Pinellas County.

Bill introducedme to the Crab Trap years ago and I have been there many times since! If you are out for the day, perhaps visiting the Bradenton area or the island of Terra Ceia, I suggest you try this place!

Max The Crystal Skull in Bradenton

Max the Crystal Skull was in Bradenton at Om Gaia this past weekend and I made the trek south to see this ancient Crystal Skull.

Max is believed to be between 3000 and 36,000 years old (depending on who you ask and what you read). He is believed to be one of the mysterious 13 Crystal Skulls that possess all the knowledge that mankind is waiting for to restore our planet.

I got to spend a half our meditation time alone with Max and wanted to share these photos with my fellow Active Rainers!!! It was indeed a dream come true for me since I have been planning on meeting Max for several years now and something has always come in the way. This time I made up my mind that nothing was going to prevent this trip to Om Gaia in downtown Bradenton.

It was a wonderful day!!!

Exploring Terra Ceia Florida

This past weekend I was out doing one of my favorite things: exploring an area that is new to me!!! I had been down in Bradenton for the day and heard about changes that have taken place on Terra Ceia. Terra Ceia is an area of land surrounded by mangroves that is just south of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, which connects Pinellas County to Manatee County.

On my way north I took a slight detour and explored Terra Ceia. It was a delightful journey to an area that is only minutes from St Petersburg via the Skyway Bridge, yet gives the impression that you are totally away from everything!!! Nature at it's best!!!

There are so many homes that have been renovated and I was surprised at how many are on the market. Probably one of the nicest things is that most of the homes have an acre or more of land, so you are not on top of your neighbor as is the case in so many neighborhoods!

It was a beautiful day to be out exploring! I had a fantastic time photographing Terra Ceia's homes and mangroves!

You can be sure I will be posting more of the photos I took on this delightful side trip to Terra Ceia!
