Eliminating Inefficiencies in Real Estate - A Contest
How many of you can remember exactly where you were and what you were doing on April 22, 1970? I can. Strange you might say, but I was at an event that changed the way a new generation of Americans thought about the planet we live on and began to be concerned about how we were going to leave it for our children.

I was a high school student in New York City and attended the first Earth Day Celebration in Central Park. On that day I realized we all had to do our part, no matter how small, to change our habits. Those were the days of the big V-8 leaded gas guzzlers spewing noxious fumes into the atmosphere and factories polluting our waterways with their toxic waste. We had our work cut out for us. Now I’m no self professed tree hugger, but I have always tried to do my part. I remember the early days of recycling in NJ, we had 8 different bins in our garage for the different products. We have tried to pass our values onto the next generation and hope they will follow suit..
Things have improved dramatically in the 40+ years since that first Earth Day. Some changes were made voluntarily by a concerned population, but some had to be done through legislation, but still things improved.
Now you may ask yourself “what has this to do with inefficiencies in Real Estate?” Fast forward to the present. One of the things that has always bothered me is the waste of paper. I envision forests being mowed down as we haphazardly crumple up pieces of paper and toss them at the waste basket.
In our real estate business we have always tried to conserve paper by printing on both sides or limiting the amount of printing required, but the best thing we have encountered to save both paper and time is Docusign.
We started using Docusign last year in conjunction with Zip Forms and we love it. I can create the document in Zip Forms, have it sent to Docusign to set up the signatures and parties to e-mail it too and then follow it every step of the way until it is e-mailed back. Not one piece of paper wasted, I LOVE IT!
All agents should be using it and trying to educate all their clients about the simplicity of using Docusign. We will admit, we had one client print out a contract and mail it back and another attempt to fax a document until we explained how simple it is to use, but most people grasp the concept immediately and love it.
So we say to you, save a tree today, use Docusign.
ActiveRain is where you can learn a thing or two just by reading all the comments.
I recently attended a local OPEN HOUSE in CAROLINA SHORES, NORTH CAROLINA. I brought up the topic of blogging and a few local Realtors began speaking about ActiveRain.
Now I must admit I wasn't too surprised to hear that many Realtors like to JUST READ (we all start out that way don't we) The majority of Realtors in my neck of the woods just don't seem to get the Blogging thing on Active Rain. A few of them admitted they would rather read all the blogs and comments than blog themselves??!!
Hello, seriously, jump on board fellow Realtors and join the FUN ... Nope, they still would rather read than blog... Some actually admitted they felt the same people were always being featured and it was a popularity thing??? They felt the best way for them was to just continue reading???
They wanted to know the benefits of being a RAINMAKER??(which of course I explained) So I am in the investigative mode of my local Realtors, to get some more folks on board and three of my favorite people to link these folks with for learning to blog are
AMY HAHN (Localism Queen),
BLIZ (all around know it all)
and
MIMI(one of the topic Queens)
.... Anyone else think they can help these Realtors find out how to benefit from becoming a Rainmaker????

RECYCLED GLASS … GLASS is crushed, graded and tumbled to remove sharp, jagged edges.
Stunning and far superior to mulch for borders, plant beds, pots and securing pavers. The most interesting benefit for outdoor landscapes is the ease for filtering water and slowing the evaporation. Weeds are controlled, aeration is increased and soil maintains the proper temperature.
What a great way to protect the outdoor landscapes and help our environment ….

Juggling and Welcome to the World of Real Estate
Juggling is quite an art and talent that not many people are accomplished in. It is an art and recognized as tossing an object up and catching it. The true art of juggling is to toss many objects, as in the form of multi-tasking, and the ability to constantly refocus your attention to many responsibilities and many objects.
With this said, we welcome you to the world of Real Estate and the many tasks that are involved. We, as Real Estate Agents, are constantly juggling the many aspects we are tossed.
A typical day can begin with the wait... Wait for feedback, wait for an offer, wait for the response to an offer...
Now when the responses come in the juggling begins... You toss your offer to your buyer or seller for a counteroffer ...
Another juggle begins waiting for the response... The juggle can go to more than one person for another response ...
Hold on to that thought ... juggle another moment or two or sometimes a day or two ...
Now what if you had two or three offers at a time, and you are juggling around with multiple clients, and multiple offers were submitted.. now that truly is juggling ... keeping all the offers in the air ... trying to make those offers work ... negotiating a short sale, making your highest and best offer, to keep the juggling offer afloat in the air ....
Welcome to the World of Real Estate and let the juggling continue ... may the Best Offer Win .... and this is only one of many juggling feats of a Realtor ... in any given day ... Which offer will be accepted?????
