Very often after a long day at work, you are just too exhausted to prepare a wholesome meal, so what do you do? Pack up the car and head out for dinner! As a long time resident of Stanwood, there are not many places in town to get a really good meal, until now. This past Friday night, I took my wife and father, (at her Suggestion!) to Gerry Andal's Resturant located at 27021 102nd Street NW.
Now the last time I had been at this location, it was known as Blazing Saddles and boasted the best bbq in Stanwood. Stanwood is known for lutefisk, not bbq, and living in Oklahoma for 12 years, I have become a somewhat of a bbq snob. Needless to say, the food and the service back then was atrocious and I vowed never to return. So you can imagine the skepticism I had as my lovely bride suggested go back to this location.
Upon entering I saw that the place hadn't changed. It still had the same theme and they had two types of music apparently, Country and Western. Horns and such were on the wall and the cane back chairs took you back to the midwest for sure. But that is when the previous ownership and resturant ended. I truly became a dining experience. We were greeting and seated by our waitress who took us right to our table and began a wonderful dining experience. With a full menu choosing our dinner was difficult at best. I finally decided on the Prime-Rib and my wife and father chose the Country Fried Steak. After delivering cocktails, we were given excellent service. The meal was well portioned and also well prepared. The prime rib was quality and Country Fried Steak was tender and the cream gravy was reminiscent of Oklahoma.
To top the meal off, home-made (truly home made) apple pie ala mode was the order of the evening and it topped off fine service and a great value. When is Stanwood, a must stop is Gerry Andal's Resturant. You'll receive fine food, fine service and a nice atmosphere to boot! (No pun intended) I look forward to returning and having my every need catered to in the future. Bravo Gerry Andal.
