Short of spending a lot of money, there are several steps people can take to make their home show better: * Sweep the sidewalk, mow the lawn, prune the bushes, weed the garden and clean debris from the yard. * Clean the windows (both inside and out) and make sure the paint is not chipped or flaking. And speaking of paint, this won't affect homes in Ruby Hill area of Pleasanton but older areas of Pleasanton need to be aware of laws affecting your home if it was built before 1978. New federal law gives a buyer the right to request a lead inspection. If you think you might have some problems, do the inspection yourself beforehand and make any fixes you can. * Something as simple as be sure that the doorbell works. * Clean and spruce up all rooms, furnishings, floors, walls and ceilings. It's especially important that the bathroom and kitchen are spotless. * Organize closets. * Make sure the basic appliances and fixtures work. Get rid of leaky faucets and frayed cords. * Make sure the house smells good: from an apple pie, cookies baking or spaghetti sauce simmering on the stove. $900,000- $1,499,000: 10 homes pending and 8 homes have sold
$296,000-$899,000: 28 homes pending and 37 homes have sold
Open house activity has increased and buyers who have been on the fence are purchasing homes- What are buyers looking for? They are looking for value, location and the overall condition of home. They are making smart choices and weighing many factors before offering on a home.

If you have been looking for a day to get outside, today is it. It is absolutely gorgeous outside today. I just love the sounds, smells and colors of spring. So.... if you can work - a stroll in the park - into your busy schedule today I guarantee it will make your day. I have yet to travel to Scotland or Ireland but I hear the colors of the hills and ridges this time of year, match. The deep green of the hills, the cherry trees and spring flowers in bloom simply cannot be passed up. Lets enjoy this break in the rains... and enjoy our surroundings.
