Amy's Ice Cream is scrumptious in South Park Meadows

Amy's Ice Cream is scrumptious in South Park Meadows!! Today for the first timeAmy's Ice Cream - gail tassey in many moons I walked back into Amy's Ice Cream. In South Park Meadows just beside the Cinemark Theatre, and I was not disappointed, the same creamy smooth confection I remember from my visits to other Amy's Ice Cream shops. (due to swearing off IceCream for a couple of years, oh so hard)

Amy's Ice Cream is a local favorite although they are also located in other cities in Texas like San Antonio and Houston. AUSTIN has several locations and all serve up the delicious treat that is great winter or summer.

Inside the friendly store is very cute decor and a warm welcoming smile by the SCOOPER on duty.

If you are out and about be sure to treat yourself to a delicious Amy's Ice Cream scoop... and today I found another great thing there, the super small scoop. It is still a generous portion of ice cream but not so much I had to toss it away.

I tried the Belgian Chocolate today, rich chocolatey and ohhhhhh sooooo smooth. A thumbs up for sure!

Movie Review for ICE AGE 3, Land of the Dinosaurs

Movie Review for ICE AGE 3, Land of the Dinosaurs

This week I had a great opportunity to take 2 of my grandsons to the movies and out for a fun day. Others may want to follow suit since its really too hot to do anything outdoors in our 103 degree heat, this year Austin Texas is having record breaking heat waves. The South Park Cinema is very cool inside and comfy.

First we went to Taco Bell for a hold over snack $6.00

we were saving our real appetite for the popcorn at the movies.
Then we stood in a short line and bought our tickets,

2 children under 12 and 1 senior $19.00

Now the yummy smell of popcorn drew us to the concession counter..

1 med popcorn, 3 med sodas and 1 peanut M&M's $21.00

The Price for out day out $46.00

The Memories PRICELESS. (to borrow from the commerical ads)

My best moment, when I heard the 11 year old review the movie to his dad that night.. "It was a really fun movie Dad, better than Ice Age 2 and almost as good as Ice Age 1". The 5 year old said, "wow, Dad, you should have seen that big ole dinosaur!".

If you are looking for a break this weekend, this movie pleases the kids, from 5 to 60.. So, I am a kid at heart and yes I have seen all 3 Ice Age movies now... I love Manny the Mammoth! and Sid the slouth is a real riot, and Diego the Lion is a real star. This is a movie for all ages and one can sit in the air conditioned theatre and just relax. The violence is minimal, the sex is non existant and the music is fine!

Memory Depot in South Austin is a Stampers Paradise

Memory Depot in South Austin is a Stampers Paradise. I love this store, while I am not a scrapbooker I do love card making supplies and stamping stuff. Here there are knowledgeable folks ready to help you with any project. Classes for beginners or veterans... there is always something to learn.

I first stumbled into Memory Depot when waiting for a friend outside of Neiman's Last Call, it is just next door tucked into the stripmall. Once I went into the store, I was greeted by the friendly staff and they offered to assist me. I declined and said I am just looking, and guess what? They let me look without looking over my shoulder and asking at every turn more questions. When I was ready for conversation about an item, the staff was very happy to help me. It's been that way everytime I go into the store. Now, that is real customer service, ready to help but not bothering you while you look.

Memory Depot has a terrific website that offers online ordering also ... many people from out of state place orders confidently with the knowledge that their orders are shipped promptly and efficiently. Per the website " Memory Depot was selected by Better Homes and Gardens as one of the 10 best shops in North America and has been featured in their SCRAPBOOKS etc. "Scrapbook Shop Sampler" magazine".

Convienently located in the Lamar/Brodie Oaks Shopping Center, Memory Depot has something for all scrappers and stampers in South Austin. Often times with items that you will not find in the large chain stores. Stop by for a chat with the friendly staff and have a look around. The store is between TOYS R US and the NEIMAN'S LAST CALL.
