This week has given me a great dose of Spring fever!

Spring Bloomers are everywhere around Gainesville, Florida. All types and colors of AZALEAS are strutting their stuff and I had to share and brag about my front lawn.

The winter frosts and freezes are gone, and my lawn is starting to prove this!!

Another of my ANNUAL blooms are my amarilla bulbs that thrive in my front flower beds. They too are happy as can be and are proud bloomers too!

I love Spring! My landscape is waking up, showing new colors and I love to spend time digging in the dirt and taking care of my plants. It's my great way to "decompress" and have a mental "get-away" from working, working, working. So, go get your grubby tennis shoes on and find your garden gloves and go outside and get dirty. I am better at being a farmer, than a hunter!

The Spring landscape is blooming, as so is the Real Estate Market in Gainesville..... just like spring blooms, the buyers are starting to strut their colors too. It's gonna be a beautiful spring...... for our yards, and for our real estate business.

Take a moment, and just look at all of YOUR BLOOMERS !!

One of my clients told me about a Great Event this week at the Florida Museum of Natural History. My son is loves "cool" science stuff and watches several shows on Science Channel so this is right up his "cool stuff" alley. We plan to attend this event at the Florida Museum of Natural Histoy this Thursday 3/27.

It looks like great fun with the University of Florida's science experts: UF Department of Geologial Sciences.

Mark you calendars! Bring your science kids and ENJOY!! Fun for all Ages! Free Admission !

Ummmm, well what I mean is "DA AGONY of DA-FEET".....so say some of my buyers this week! Their feet are killing them from viewing so many condos!

It's Spring Break here for the University of Florida, but that means there are parents here for soon-to-be UF students and we are hunting for condos near UF.

I think I have worn out two sets of parents here, and they are amazed at how many condos are for sale at great prices. So, if they want to see them....we get busy. I always tell them to dress comfy and wear their comfortable shoes.

Here in the Gainesville market, you have different scenarios to consider for your student's housing at UF:

• New Construction Communities with Community Pools, Gyms, Tennis, and on a Bus Line?
• Re-Sale Condos in established Communities popular to students.
• Condo Conversion Communities
• Does the condo fee include insurance, full exterior maintenance, ammenities, or utilities?
• What Price Range can your monthly budget afford?
• Is it on a bus line - as all students RIDE FREE on our Regional Transit System Bus Lines!
• How far away from campus do you want to be?
• How many bedrooms, how many baths??
• Does your student want to live alone, or rent other rooms to pay that mortgage?

These are great questions I propose to my parents/buyers as this will determine the best complexes for them to investigate and see. Let me help you find you a condo near UF!

Finally some good news coming from the National Media.

A recent article on CNNMoney.com is very informative with regard to home values across the country. The main theme in the article is EXCELLENT NEWS!

Our current market now is giving homebuyers the best buys they've had since 2004 !!

I have been shouting this from my soapbox, website and blog site....and finally the national media is starting to pass along good news to prospective home buyers.

The condition of any real estate market is "Localized" and our market here in Gainesville should not be compared with markets in South Florida.

We have much more stability here, and this map shows which areas have been the hardest hit in the country.

It's a great time to be a buyer ! And it's easy to do!

First, get yourself a Buyer's Agent Realtor to represent you (not the seller).

Second, get a local lender to talk to you about what loan program is good for you and your budget.

Third....start shopping for a home!

There are many homes & condos waiting for buyers just like YOU here in Alachua County.

Think of shopping for a home as a "process of elimination".

It's March 1st and for Gainesville, that means the GATORNATIONALS are coming !

Our Gainesville Raceway is the proud home to the SEASON OPENER for the NHRA Racing Season. March 12th -15th will be a thrill event with 4 days of packed events. Tickets are on sale now! And you can't get a hotel room in this area as the race teams will start rolling into town a week before the event begins! Loyal race fans book their hotel rooms a year in advance!

The Gainesville Raceway has a rich heritage of the NHRA.

Gainesville Raceway opened in 1969 and held its first Gatornationals event in 1970.

The Gainesville Raceway is proud to be known as one of the fastest tracks on the NHRA circuit, it was from this, legendary launch point that drivers clocked the first 260-270- and 300-mph Top Fuel runs.

It also was from this starting line, during the 2000 Mac Tools NHRA Gatornationals, that eight of 10 national records were set in the professional classes. This years event is the ACDELCO NHRA Gatornationals!

You will see new renovations made to the raceway this year.

On the raceway's main web site, I found descriptions of these renovations: "The concrete launchpad at the starting line of the ultra-quick drag strip was extended to the 675-foot mark and the remainder of the racing surface, the shutdown area, as well as areas in the professional pits were repaved. A new television compound was constructed for the ESPN crew on the north side of the drag strip, which frees up space in the pit area. The timing tower had the restroom facilities upgraded, and new carpet and windows were installed in several of the corporate suites. The storm drainage system in the parking lots was upgraded and several of the access roads to the sportsman pit areas were improved"

My favorite event is the TOP Fuel Dragsters! I love the pits and the noise.

This is a great family event and we love it!
